We came very late and were led there by a cab driver. Risky but turned out to be a great move. Right on the beach, the food was spectacular, except the lobster. We had a delicious shellfish meal made for two- We ended up wishing we would have gone for the one with the fresh monkfish instead of the lobster - It did not taste as fresh as the other shellfish. The staff was extremely attentive and made you feel special! The drinks were good and the overall experience was just what we needed. Highly recommended!

We were visiting Barcelona for 3 days & wanted a change from tapas. Also wanted to be near the ambience of the beaches. Found Salamanca on TripAdvisor. Our delightful server, Lati, made our evening a memorable one. We ordered paella & a good bottle of Rioja for the 3 of us. While we waited for our meal we were treated by Lati to complementary salami, tomato bread & salted green baby peppers (delicious). The paella was to die for & at the end of the meal we were given complementary almond cake and grappa aperitifs. Great value for money & highly recommended.

We were recommended to try the Salamanca as the quality and freshness of the food makes it a popular destination, we were not disappointed. The set menu of starter of squid, octopus, mussels, prawns, fried whitebait, gazpacho local hams and cheese with a free glass of wine was a meal in it self to savour and enjoy. The second course of fresh seafood paella was as good as we have had in a long time which more fresh see food. The lemon sorbet and local glass of digestivo was a very pleasent way to finish a meal.
The team of waiters are very attentive and the service is friendly and efficient with a nice twist as they arrived with our desert to sing happy birthday to my wife.
Looking forward to our next trip to try out more of the amazing menu

I could agree with other reviewers, it's a tourist trap. Visiting that place for last 4 years then going to MWC and it's already became kind of tradition. Last time was not so good, as previous ones: although place was pretty empty, they moved us to separate location they have just around a corner, it was too warm and full of bad smell. Food was not at the top too. May be it's just bad luck that time, cause previous visits I really enjoyed that place.

And yes, it's expensive, but you will to spend some money, you could get really good experience. Barcelona full of great places, so go somewhere else, if you want to save some money.

Mr. Dimitry,
I want to apologize for the inconveniences. As you say, we are a very typical restaurant in Barcelona and many friends, famous or not, come every time to visit and delight our wonderful and famous paella.
It’s a pity that your good days at our restaurant are now vanished by a bad day. Please ask for me next time you come. I’ll make sure everything is fine. And don’t hesitate to ask for a new table if you don’t like the one you have. Silvestre

A friend and I were in Barcelona for a few days only, and went to Salamanca based on a tip - and we were very glad we did! We didn't experience the scam with the bread and chorizo, and thought that the prices were absolutely reasonable.

We'd built up a hearty appetite walking the city, and so we ordered the seafood platter for two. My goodness....what a treat! Prawns, scampi, lobster, clams, mussels and three different fish, all cooked absolutely to perfection and all gobbled down with glee.

We had great service from our waiters, and lingered over our coffee and dessert without any apparent resentment at all. I would heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone travelling through Barcelona.
