We came here as a result of the reviews but left disappointed, food is ok ( did not like the obama thing but that is down to taste not quality ) but there are many better places to eat in Valladolid. The staff are efficient but pretentous in my opinion, why dont they ever smile or talk to you ?? The plece is very busy but I think that is down to location and reputation as its clearly one of the trendy places to be seen in. you will get better food and better service elsewhere at a better price

We went here for a diner after reading about this place online. It is true that some tapas are very original, we took one of each tapas and there were some we liked more then others, but in general it was good. We liked Obama's tapas, the shrimp one and the jamon iberrico one the most. Also, the croqetas were great! The service is pretty fast but not as nice.

We ate here twice: once for lunch (a good meal) and stopped by at night for tapas (wonderful). The comments about waitstaff not being the nicest are pretty spot on but, for us, the originality of the tapas made up for any shortcomings offered from the quality of the service. Well worth a stop during a nightly tapeo.

We really enjoyed a night of tapas, the most unusual we had in Spain.

This is my first choice when it comes to tapas in Valladolid. Around the Plaza Mayor Area therea are lots of good bars and restaurants, but this one is still one of my favourites. And perhaps one of the reasons to return to Valladolid's International Film Festival year after year is to pay a visit to Los Zagales to find out a new wonderful creation. They have produced delicacies that have been widely awarded in cuisine contests.
You can't miss their tapa called "Obama en la Casa Blanca", presented inside a custom-made "white-dome" pottery bowl, which consists of boletus edulis, poached egg, a crust of puff pastry and flocks of dehydrated potato in squid sauce. Delicious. Their "Mar y Tierra" tapas are a must. The "tigretostón" is delicious too. And they also serve creative sandwiches and "raciones" ( bigger portions to share) of traditional castillian cooking, cheese, iberian ham and a delicious Cecina ( beef ham). They also have a proper restaurant inside. As homeland of one of the best red wine Geographical denominations in the world, you can find a good Ribera del Duero wine at very reasonable prices ( 3 or 4 Euros per glass) . Don't miss this place if you ever go to Valladolid.
