“Modern and comfortable”
Reviewed December 25, 2013 via mobile

We stayed one night at the Gareus. The hotel is lovely, the rooms very modern, amazing shower, and very pleasant staff. The free wifi worked very well. The only thing missing was a tea/coffee machine.
Would recommend to others and would stay here again if in Valladolid.

Venue is absolutely cozy, spacious and great value for money. Breakfast is special enjoyment as waiters bring you different dishes as you eat, starting from fresh fruit, excellent coffee, pastry, jams... We had a car accident just in the city and unexpectedly needed to stay longer until our car gets fixed, and since in Spain rarely anyone speaks English, staff helped us find towing and car service since 6am. In the meantime they gave us double the size room - for the same price. We are definitely coming back next year.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this , what looked to be a, a small Hotel but no way. It had very secure Parking ( one drives into a lift) and large rooms tastefully decorated. Friendly Staff, ( they gave me an umbrella as it was due to rain!) and the hotel was so clean. Excellent position for nearby restaurants and sightseeing.

Room Tip: Perfect for sightseeing

The rooms and the general services of this hotel meet its 4 star standard. It has a charming decoration, contemporary looks in an old but well mantained building in the very center of Valladolid, a mere 5 minutes walk away from Recoletos, Campo Grande or Paseo de Zorrilla.

On the other hand, our room was far from the cleanliness one would expect from such a 4 star hotel. It was not totally dirty, but you could see how the cleaning was quickly made and without care (used-looking bed covers, and sadly some parts of the bathroom were witnesses to this careless cleaning).

The price was not that high (typical internet offer; also a big room for disabled people), but a hotel this category should definitely be cleaner (at least in Spain, where they usually are).

The night staff was also not very friendly, but those present at the check-out counter next morning were indeed nice, so no generalisation here.

Room Tip: Ask for a clean one ;)

We stayed here on the strength of the TA reviews and because of the location, near the centre of the city. It's an easy walk from either the bus station and the rail station. We walked from the bus station with suitcases in under 15 minutes.

It's on a quiet side street, just off a main road, with some shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly enough on arrival. There are steps down to reception and although there is a lift immediately you enter the hotel, the lift doesn't seem to stop on that level.

The room wasn't huge and didn't have a very big window in the actual room, although there was one in the bathroom. This made it rather dark and not always very inviting. The room had all the usual facilities, the bathroom only had a shower, but it was a double sized waterfall type one. The decor is very dark, with lots of dark furniture, so it's stylish, but dark.

There's free wifi that actually works. There's also a supermarket on Calle Independencia and another one on Calle Dos de Mayo. The hotel is near the park and a quick walk into town. Overall, a good place to stay, especially if you get a good deal through the internet.

The hotel is at the inside very modern unlike the exterior which creates at first glance the impression that you are in the wrong place. Hotel and staff are very good and certainly meet 4 star standard. A pitty that our toom was designed for disabled, althought this only influence the bathroom. Size of the room was surprising. Location is at easy walking distance from the centre. There are several restaurants nearby. The garage is entered via an car-elevator which was big enough for my Volvo XC60 and a several other larger cars.
