Looks like a fairy tale castle!

At the same time with a sense of history and with spectacular views to match from the outside as well as from within its ramparts.

The several rooms have many interesting objects and artefacts.

Several points provide excellent photo opportunities.

There is a souvenir shop within the caste with good quality items, though expensive.

We bought our souvenirs from the old town areas.

This fortress on a rocky precipice is what a castle should be. Walk the same rooms where Queen Isabella walked. The views of the plain and some small towns are outstanding. There are interesting exhibits from the later artillery school, but it is only in Spanish. Part of the grounds and a building were being renovated This is a must see,

Somewhat not that impressive inside as from outside, nevertheless, this castle is marvelous. Its picture can be placed together with the Neuschwanstein Castle in an encyclopedia, next to the “castle” definition. The steep rock on top of which it’s built makes the place look impenetrable, no wonder it was used by the Romans and the Moors as a vantage location before the Spanish kings. Together with the roman aqueduct and the Segovia Cathedral, it makes a well worth day trip from Madrid for somebody who wants to see most of the important sites of Spain.

This is one of the most beautiful castles I saw. We came on a Friday around noon, there were few people and we have bought the tickets without any line. The Tower is must go, however, be warned about quite steep and difficult spiral stairs. The views from the Tower are fantastic! The ceilings are exceptionally too. I will remember this visit very long.

This castle is the best looking in Spain. The residence of Queen Isabela and then an artillery school this is a must visit if you pass near Segovia. Don’t miss out on the views from down below in the grass.
