“Can't beat the location”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

My sister and I stayed one night in the Infanta Isabel and were satisfied with the accommodation. It was a little expensive but you pay for the location. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was large and everything was very clean. The hotel is hard to find due to the sign that says No Entry and then in small letters Except for residents and hotel patrons (in Spanish) so it's easy to miss the turn up to the Plaza Mayor and you can stop right in front of the hotel. For 13 € there is valet parking and well worth the cost! Within walking distance to everything you want to and must see in Segovia. We would stay here again - in fact, it was my sister's second stay here as she had stayed here in April with our mother.

Having enjoyed our stay here 12 years ago, we decided to spend our last night in Spain here before heading home from Madrid. We were not disppointed. We had a nice room overlooking the Plaza Mayor (though the room wasn't as large as the one we'd had on our earlier stay) - walking distance to everything in this beautiful town. The "balcony" was just about 12 inches deep so we couldn't sit out on it, but we were able to open the doors and pull our chairs up so that we could sit with a glass of wine and people watch. Guests of the hotel can drive through the traffic-restricted streets to the hotel where a valet will take care of the rest - very nice! The bathroom has been modernized very nicely and the whole place is extremely clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Internet access was very slow - we finally gave up trying. And a fax sent to us never got to us - the sender kept getting error messages. Breakfast was not included and, on a Sunday morning, nothing was open until 9:30 or so, which was after our 9 am departure. We ended up having an overpriced coffee and pastry in their bar/cafe and wouldn't do that again! If we're in Segovia again, we'd come back to the Infanta Isabel.

The hotel is in the heart of Segovia - it was quite a privlage to drive down the medieval streets to Plaza Mayor.

The hotel is quite old, and you can see that in the rooms. There was a slight smell, but nothing overpowering - simply a result of its age we guess. That said, the rooms are very clean and quite spacious.

The hotel is so well located, you can walk everywhere in the old Segovia and be close to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over Plaza Mayor

Incomparable location on the Plaza Mayor – a stone’s throw from the Cathedral and within walking distance of all the sites, including the Alcazar - and surprisingly quiet at night. A great value for this location! Clean, friendly and spacious rooms. We only stayed one night but wish we had an extra one at this fabulous location in this magical city.

Best hotel location concerning views during our entire trip. Stunning views of the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral, spacious room and bathroom, design a bit out of date, yet sleeping comfort was excellent. If you are travelling by car, better ask for parking possibilities nearby as most of the center is pedestrian area and parking is restricted.

Very clean, GREAT location. No parking there, but valet parking was available. Great bedding ( I wanted to swipe my pillow) and impressive showers (great water pressure) Recommend!

My wife and I recently spent two nights at this jewel of a hotel and we both recommend it highly. It is located on the Plaza Mayor, a major square (where the Cathedral is, and an easy walk to the Alcazar; the Cathedral, by the way, is lit at night, and it's a lot of fun to walk around the square then and watch the people). The fast-train station is located in the middle of nowhere, but a quick ride on the number 11 bus lets you off at the Aqueduct, and from there it is a short (10 minutes, maybe 15 if you're encumbered by bags) walk to the hotel. Our room (at the very top of the hotel, accessible by a short walk up some stairs from the top stop of the elevator) was clean and comfortable and had a great view of the Cathedral (and as an added bonus, on Saturday and Sunday mornings we saw hot air balloons lifting off and floating over the Cathedral). Free Wifi was available in the room and in the lobby. Our room did not come with breakfast, which was available for 9 euros each but the two of us ate well for about half that amount by walking across the street to a great pastry shop and buying croissants and bottled water. The hotel employees were consistently friendly and professional. The one thing I would point out, though, is that some of the rooms (including the one we had) are not handicap-accessible, so if you have problems in that regard it would be wise to let somebody know when you book a room. This was not a problem for us, however, and did not detract in the slightest from what was a very fine experience in a lovely city.
