Hosteria Ayala Berganza

I booked this hotel based on previous positive Tripadvisor reviews and it lived up to my expectations. I asked for a twin room and we had what looked like virtually a double bed each: our room had very high beamed ceilings and a large bathroom with very nice towels and toileteries. The room was well heated by a very efficient fan radiator, as it was snowing and very cold outside (April in Spain ??!!). We were on a room only basis so I am unable to comment on the quality of the food. However, for character, comfort and location I would definitely stay at the Ayala Berganza again. Segovia is a lovely city with some stunning sights to see.

Ayala Berganza was another very positive experience on our trip to central Spain. The hotel is located conveniently just near the Segovia's city center, about 10 minute walk from the famous aqueduct (5 minutes if you take the stairs leading to old town, they're not that steep at all!).

If you arrive by car there's a parking hall about 5 minute drive/10 minute walk from the hotel which costs 12 or 13€/24 hours. Just remember to ask for the discount parking ticket at hotel.
The easiest is to drive to hotel, drop off the luggage and then take the car to the parking hall. If you arrive at night you can leave the car near the hotel where it's free from evening until 11.30AM.

The hotel is very beautiful. All the public spaces and the rooms are very carefully designed. Our room was huge! Even the bed was enormous (two double beds)! There was the huge bed, sofa, nice and spacious closet, table and two chairs, tv and built-in radio. The heating/air-con was very good. Also the bathroom was clean and very pretty, there was a beautiful bath tub also.

There were two breakfast options, for 3€ you get toast, cheese, butter and coffee, for 6,50€ you also get yoghurt/fruit, ham and orange juice. The breakfast was good but I'm not sure if it's worth the money.

The only negative thing about the hotel were the thin walls because we woke up during the night when people walked down the hall or took a shower. Otherwise it was an extremely positive stay. Staff was very, very nice, some of them spoke English and some not but you definitely manage with them.

Stayed here for one night in November and although it was a few blocks further from most sites than their hotels, it was a great hotel. The rooms were clean and the bathroom was spacious. Like all other reviews say, try to avoid rooms facing the street or by the stairs.

The bar below the hotel makes for a good start to the night and the location is convenient to the bus stop coming from the train stop. All around, this was a decent priced hotel with great service. I'd stay here again if I return to Segovia.

Ayala Berganza is nestled just outside the walls of the old city of Segovia two or three blocks from the Roman aqueduct. It occupies an historic property that has been beautifully restored without undue modernization, and provides a comfortably commodious retreat for the holiday traveler. Our room had a beautiful view in both directions, of the courtyard behind the hotel and of the city in front. The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom modern and functional. The staff was most accommodating and helpful. There was nearby automobile parking for which we received a hefty discount from the hotel. For those who wish to explore the old part of Segovia, it is actually preferable to stay just outside the walls because driving and parking restrictions in the old city make it much more difficult to access hotels located inside the walls. In sum, this is an excellent choice for travelers seeking attractive, atmospheric accommodations in this beautiful, historic city.

It's an old palace that has been renewed, the rooms are big, and comfortable. It has a nice location and attention is good. Breakfast is not buffet. Price is correct and not expensive. So enjoy your staying.

Room Tip: We had a nice room looking into the little garden inside.

A charming saline hotel. Good location, a quite street and tucked lower part of Segovia which is Short walk to every thing. The Hotel is newly restored; it is quite, clean, very nicely done with typical Spanish design and deco. Also has a nice pretty patio. Building is solid, Rooms are big, clean and very comfortable. Staffs were very nice helpful. It was excellent value for the Money at 60 Euro during mid week.

No parking available. You need to park your car of the public parking lot which hotel guest get discount. Please ask the parking info when you book room because it was hard to find if you do not know your ways around. You can walk to the hotel from the parking lot, if you do not want to deal with driving into the old city.

We got a great last minute deal for this hotel for a double room for €50.

It says it is a restored 15th century palace which you can vagule see in it's current design. The room was pleasantly decorated and very clean. The bed was a bit hard for my taste but my companion liked it. The hotel has an elevator though you will still have to climb some steps with your luggage. Wifi only worked in the lobby area. Located within walking distance to all the major sights of Segovia.

Overall, would definitely recommend.
