Hotel is 10 minutes drive from Salamanca's historical centre (aprox. 10 euros by taxi). VERY strange hotel and environment - it is located within a complex which includes golf course, housing, paddle tennis club, and not much else. Views are of building sites. Although only built in 2002, the whole place is very dated - think Spanish design of the 1950's - and, to my mind, really tasteless, from the chandeliers all over the place, paintings on ceilings, statues/plaques in honour of the builder's family to the bedrooms with heavy wood.
Reception not at all friendly, but efficient.
Bedrooms/bathrooms: very clean. Uncomfortable lay out in that the sink is outside the bathroom/shower area which means turning on light in bedroom to get a drink of water. Bathroom had a very shallow "bath" and water was tepid on a couple of occasions (early evening). Bad lighting (either very dark or harsh with ceiling lights turned on). Wifi crashed every 5 minutes and when it worked, was extremely slow. Mattress very hard.
Our room had "view" of the block in front - 5 metres away, so you have to ensure that curtains are drawn at all times!
Food: had lunch in the first floor restaurant which was awful. Breakfast was very bad quality, disgusting coffee, fake juices from a machine and nasty pastries. No newspapers on offer - we were told to drive in to the nearest village if we wanted one!
Plenty of hotels in the centre - don't go to this one!

For a new hotel about 3 kilometers outside of Salamanca, this is a perfectly adequate place to spend the night. As a business hotel, this hotel met my needs perfectly. Big spacious rooms with a reasonable Spanish breakfast buffet. There is a big golf course walking distance from the hotel. While I was visiting midweek, there were many elderly people visiting while on a bus tour, so I am going to guess the hotel is pretty quiet most days.

I only had two issues with the hotel:
1) The wireless in my room did not work on the third floor. Wifi worked perfectly fine near the bar.
2) As a non-smoker, I could tell that the previous occupants were allowed to smoke. I think you have to ask for a non-smoking room but I never got around to it.

New (2002) development outside Salamanca, 10 mins by car, €10 taxi. Unbeatable value. Walk in rate €59 for a twin room with breakfast. 4 star, 3 pools, gym, Spa, golf course. Mad really. Something very unusual going on here. Few staff, but everything is too cheap so that explains that. Bar food €6-8. 3 course dinner €20. And it was all good. Large beer €3! in a 4 star hotel?? Well hidden, no sign posting from main roads. Excellent stop over for a road trip, in our case San Sebastian to Algeciras, decided to chill out and stayed a second night. Would happily stay here again. Would love to know what is really going on....

Plush, nice staff, really clean plenty of facilities and an absolute value for money. This hotel is located on the outskirts of Salamanca but had good road Access and as I had a motorcycle no problem. It is next to a golf course and close to caffe and restaurant. I ate in the hotel in the bar area the food was plenty and delicious. The beer was a fair price, Breakfast was well presented and fresh. The room was huge and a big marble bathroom with double bath and shower. All of the staff had knowledge of the surroundings and the hotel. People reading this should read my previous reviews (especially Bordeaux) and realise sometimes how paying the same money with careful research you can achieve a far better value place for your stay.

We stayed at the hotel for just one night in September. It was a good first stop on the journey from Santander to the South coast. The first room we were offered had been recently used by smokers, and the second, which was quickly offered, was acceptable. The room was clean and comfortable, with good facilties. The pool was not open. Supper was excellent value. We had the menu of the day, which included a bottle of local wine and a bottle of water, for 20 euros each. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding, and we made it the standard for us for to compare other hotel breakfasts during our holiday.

Room Tip: In Spain, if you are a non-smoker, always ask for a non smoking room, when booking the accommodation...

I used to live in Salamanca and watched this hotel being built; it opened in 2002. From the outside it is splended, the hall is impressive, the rooms large and fairly well appointed. The hotel has not worn well: you can see where cheap building materials are showing signs of age; you can listen to the conversation from the room next door. The service in both the lobbby bar and the upstairs restaurant is incredibly slow. The staff are pleasant ... but never in a hurry to serve you. On day 1 I complained that there was no internet access in room; there was always someone on the one computer for guest use in the lobby .... and a few people waiting; by day 2, connection was restored!

This was our first stopover on the way from Santander to the Algarve. Impressive foyer and large rooms. Booked a double and a triple next door to each other. Staff were helpful and friendly. Swimming pool was cold but fabulous after a hot day. But the best thing about this place was the breakfast (included in the price). Our boys were stunned by the choice - your usual cereal/toast/rolls etc, but also hams, cheeses, fresh fruit, juice, pastries and a stunning array of tarts (chocolate, almond and apple) all topped off with a plate of chocolate doughnuts and a huge glass jar of marshmallows! We stayed at several hotels on our road trip and this was their favourite. In fact, we booked it again for our return trip home.
