We had a one night stay here on a coach tour. The hotel is well positioned to visit the town, being only a 10 minute easy walk away.
The room we had overlooked the back area and the washing. It was adeqate for our needs, but on the tired side. It was narrow and smallish with a samll bathroom but large bath towels. There was no coffee making facilities.
The cases arrived reasonably quickly considering the smll size of the lift available. Most of the time we walked up the two flights of stairs.
The set meal we had was just about adequate but the breakfast had a reasonable choice of foods, with a continental slant.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the town centre, we arrived and were able to park our car in the underground car park, but overall it reminded of me of the nursery rhyme, "When it was good it was good, but when it was bad it was shocking!"
The good bits:-
- Easy walking distance for the town centre and cathedral
- The ability to park off-street
- Comfortable, if slightly 'Euro-bland', bedrooms
- Good reception staff
The bad bits:-
- The restaurant food, dinner and breakfast, was diabolical and was worse than '60's motorway cafe standard
- Many of the restaurant staff were surly
- The bars were closed for too long and getting a drink was difficult
- The car parking was pricey
In this day and age you cannot pass yourself off as a four star hotel and adopt restaurant standards that are as low as these, they should at least be able to present the traveller with a choice that meets the quality of at least some of the local restaurants/cafes.
Stay here if you want but don't go to the restaurant, dine out even for breakfast.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel are above a busy street which houses the local bus station and these...

At only £25/night for a double room I was a little concerned but had no need at all. This is a very good hotel. Our room was on the small side but very well fitted out & clean. In terms of value for money this would have been good at a higher price. Parking was 12 euro's which I also thought was good. The location is very good as it's just a short stoll down to the river across the bridge through the gate & you're in the centre of town facing the cathedral. I'd certainly go back if the price was right. The car park is a bit tight so if you've a large car make that clear at the front desk & they'll give you a larger space. If travelling by bus of note is that the bus station is only 75m or so away.

Fortunately only had to stay here 1 night on a dreadful Shearings coach tour. The room we had faced the rear of the hotel and was without any sort of view at all. It was very cramped and much in need of moderisation. The bar didn't open until 8.15pm which was the same time as dinner was served. Decent sized dining room but our party was squashed down at one end of the room for no particular reason as the hotel wasn't awash with guests. The food, if you can call it that, was no better than poor canteen grub and breakfast was minimal in every respect. I suppose the Shearings budget they were working to might have had something to do with the poor quality.

One good thing though was the location. Very central and easy to get to see the sights in a very interesting city.

In summary. Very poor hotel that must have been awarded 4 stars quite a few years ago when standards were very different than they are today. Certainly not 4 stars. No facilities.

As I sit and look around the room at the broken bedside table, tiny tv screen, shadowed light struggling to find its way through the windows with external shutters 3/4 closed, hearing the water pouring down the pipes from the upstairs bathroom, I wonder how this hotel can still claim that it's a 4 star hotel. Perhaps in its 80s heydays it was, but not now.

Having said that, the room is clean and comfortable, but the double bed is just two singles pushed together - not even sharing the same duvet/covers. It's in a good location, just 5-10 mins from the cathedral and old town. We got a significantly discounted last minute rate. Worth this cost, but I wouldn't pay full price.

This Hotel was nice although rooms a bit dark and damp smelling although only stopping once night; Breakfast good, and staff friendly which makes a nice change. Burgos was a fantastic b place and a must to see the Cathedral which has the final resting place of El.Cid

The welcome was charming and helpful, which was just as well as the entrance is not terribly inviting, especially for a 4star. The first room they gave us was small, very dated and the bathroom was not as clean as it could have been - not enough to complain, but a bit disappointing. However, we couldn't get an internet connection, so we called for help, which came immediately and resulted in their maoving us to a bigger, cleaner and more comfortable room. I have never been comfortable with the procedure or an acquaintance who registers for a hotel saying, "could you please give me the room you would give me if I complained", but maybe there is something in that approach! Anyway it was comfortable night in the end, and I would recommend it especially for its location and attentive staff.
Their restaurant is a typically soulless and uninspiring place, but it was freezing cold when we were here and we took the easy option and 'ate in' and their 15euro menu was good and great value.
