Exterior unattractive but we'd already booked and were pleasantly surprised by excellent interior. Staff very helpful and friendly. Immaculately clean environment and rooms very comfortable. Good sized bathroom, a good range of toiletries, Excellent value for the price we paid. Breakfast buffet varied and more than adequate. A most useful situation, geographically and only ten minutes walk from main historical attractions, near river, cathedral etc.,

Room Tip: From our experience any room would be comfortable.

Excellent , convenient , and fantastic breakfast restaurant!
Could nit fault this hotel, which we booked an hour before we arrived , en route to Seville from the UK!
Friendly staff, free parking outside , during certain hours.
We arrived late, and left early, so didn't get to we much of the town, but could not fault this hotel, yet again it payed off to gowih a familiar chain of hotel!

The exterior and signage had us a little scared when we walked in, but we had a delightful room. There were 2 tour groups in the hotel, so as independent travelers, they gave us a suite for a regular room price. It was large and very comfortable. We ate our meals there and while not gourmet cooking, were quite adequate. Parking was a couple blocks away in an underground garage, but relatively inexpensive. We would stay again.

The hotel is located in a residential area not far from the center of the town (a 20 minutes’ walk). The exterior of the hotel’s building is unsightly and you would never imagine it could house a four star hotel. Even the Mercure sign of the hotel is difficult to distinguish being very small, look for the big yellow sign HOTEL which is evidently the old sign of the previous name of the hotel. It used to be Rice Hotel before being acquired by the Mercure Hotels. While the exterior is not impressive everything changes inside the building. The interior décor reminds an hotel of the end of the 19th century. Marble everywhere, green and golden handrails, sculptures, prints of the last century, mahogany furniture, dark wooden floors, bright lights in the aisles, music in the rooms (in the bathrooms as well). The breakfast room has the same nice style. Unfortunately there is a major fault you don’t notice at once. Being an old structure the rooms are not soundproof and the noise coming from other rooms (or even from people walking along the aisle) could be disturbing if you happen to be with many other guests in the hotel. I think very few rooms have an external view, most have a not nice internal view. The hotel parking is a short drive away.

Very easy to find hotel when you drive a car; close to "Old Town" and shopping area/ restaurants of Burgos when walking. No set aside space in front of the hotel to stop a car for luggage unloading without double parking, or having to pay at the parking meter if you arrive after 16:00 hour. (4 pm).
Very professional and efficient receptionist staff, well fitted uniform, good english willing to answer twice to the same question without being annoyed.
Hotel is very clean with an unexpected (surprising) level of room decoration, antique furnishings in public areas, and expensive ceiling, wall and floor finishes including bathrooms, by U.S. standards.
One exception though, the double bed was a "torture bed" for me, the most uncomfortable bed out of five hotels and two private residences that we stayed at in this trip to Spain.
Overall very good value for the money.
