“Good wine, good tapas”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

We made a lunchtime stop at this bar/restaurant and it was a good choice. A nice, casual place with friendly service and it was pretty busy throughout the lunch time. There is a good choice of wines by the glass at very good prices and a decent selection of tapas and small plates. I can totally recommend the Cecina de Leon - both in tapa form and as a larger dish.

We did not try the main restaurant so can't comment on that but on the basis of the bar food, I would certainly look to try it when next in Burgos.

“Bar buzzing, food fab, staff a little precious but go anyway”
Reviewed March 21, 2014

Amazing atmostsphere in the front bar area - want some life in your evening and great food - right place.
Much quieter in atmostphere are the rooms at the back - in fact almost dead midweek - so if you plan to go then make sure you bring your own fun, or head to the front.

Food and wine were excellent, and beautifully presented. Staff were just a little too aware that the restaurant has won lots of food awards and perhaps the clientele should be grateful to be there.

But ignore that and visit anyway

“Crowded but excellent tapas”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

La favorita is always crowded but the staff is incredubly able to serve your choice very quickly. They won a proze to the best tapa in Spain: anchovies. They have some wonderful choices and I could not recommend nothing but all of them. Maybe the Solomillo with foie canape if you are not on a diet. Try to show up beside peak times (from 13 to 15 hs and from 20.00 to 22.00 hs) because the place is extremely popular with locals. Is hidden in an alley close to the touristic attractions but it is unknown to foreigners, so ask the locals how to get there form the "capitania" building at the other end of the Cathedral st.

“Great atmosphere, slow service, food just OK.”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

This is the place to go for a drink in a happening spot.

It's absolutely PACKED in the evening's...and as a result the service suffers.

The bar is gorgeous, but the food doesn't really live up to the surroundings.

The waiters and barmen are charming and friendly, they just have too many people to handle.

Still, it's a fun place and I'd return for a drink just to see the locals in all their splendor.

“Great location, food. Were locals go.”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

What a great place. The typical foods of Burgos are fantastic you must order the morcilla and the anchoves tapas for starters. Pair it with a nice bottle of Cillar de Milo and you are in heaven. this place has a great ambiance and is were the locals go to eat which is always a good sign. if in Burgos I highly recommend this place.
