My husband and I arranged a private tour with Natalia during our stay in Madrid. She was in contact with us before the tour began to determine the meeting spot and the types of things we would like to see. Bonus points: I was 5 months pregnant during the tour, so Natalia made sure that I was comfortable with the pace and ensured a route that wasn't too difficult for me to walk.

Natalia's tour was filled with the history of Toledo and modern day life In Toledo. We loved hearing about the region and how it came to be. Some of our favorite highlights were: seeing the Burial of the Count of Orgaz painting by El Greco and learning about the intricate details of the painting that we wouldn't have known just by reading a guidebook, touring the Toledo Cathedral where Natalia explained the layout and the various additions throughout the years. Overall it was a fantastic tour and we would recommend it to anyone!

We booked a last-minute day-trip to Toledo from Madrid, and started the day off with a 3-hour walking tour with Javi. This tour was, by far, one of the best I've ever received from a tour guide. Javi was a delight, knowledgeable about architecture, history, religion - everything under the sun. This tour made the rest of our long day in Toledo meaningful and jubilant. If we ever go back to Toledo we will certainly take another tour with this group. If you're considering booking this tour do not hesitate! It's a perfect amount of time, immerses you in the history (and current vibe, too) of the town, and just sets the tone wonderfully. Enjoy Toledo - and do not miss this tour!

Outstanding Toledo, Spain tour with, likely, the premier guide in town. We were chauffeured from our hotel in downtown Madrid by Javier who was more guide of downtown Madrid and outskirts of city than a chauffeur. Upon arrival inToledo we were greeted by Javi with an excitement about our visit that was sustained throughout our 3 hours together. Javi is brilliant; being fluent in multiple diverse global languages, having an immense knowledge of the architecture, history and current events of historic Toledo and current Spain and the world. We became friends with Javi nearly immediately and within an hour were sharing photos of family, pets and other places visited around the world. Honestly, the 3 hours of one in one (actually two on one, when considering my more than significant other, wife) with Javi could easily have been expanded by another hour or two. Toledo is beautiful, the history remains breathtaking and Javi guides one through it all making you feel at one with the city. Additionally, Javi, a Toledo native, apparently is friends with the entire town adding a profound hometown feeling to the tour and towards the town, history and current day populace. One of my favorite days yet in 35 years touring Western Europe!

Our tour guide, Valle, met us at the train station. She was kind enough to always give us options on what we would like to do and see and how much walking we wanted to do. She is a native of Toledo, and it showed in the pride and enthusiasm she exhibited throughout the day!! Very sweet and knowledgeable guide. We’re requesting her again!!

This perfect day in Spain began with a short train trip from the Atoche station (buy your “to” ticket” online—our guide, the gracious, knowledgeable Enrique Galdeano helped with the return ticket because we asked to be picked up at the station.) Short ride up the hill to the astounding over-the-top cathedral to see the most elaborate carvings, huge gold monstrance imaginable and elaborate artwork in a Spanish church. Enrique’s knowledge is profound — he is a citizen and historian of the town. We then walked to the first of Toledo’s two synagogues, this one in the Moorish style (think Córdoba), eventually ended up seeing El Greco’s astonishing “Burial of the Count of Orgaz”, which makes you realize what the fuss about El Greco is really all about. Enrique took us to a small excavated basement below a previously Jewish home, which may have served as a secret hideaway for Marranos. Then lunch at a charming restaurant Enrique had already booked for us. On our own after lunch we visited the second extant synagogue and the El Greco museum before walking (downhill) to the train station for our 5:30 trip back to Madrid. Worth every cent.
