“First nights in Spain”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

We stayed here our first 2 nights in Spain. We agree with everyone about the great location and service. The tour of the underground cave is a must. Make sure you ask when he will have the tour. Toledo is difficult to get around. Make sure you have a good map and maybe a hand held GPS. As others said parking is an experience, but as we found out it is that way throughout most of the cities in Spain.

Room Tip: Try to get first floor for carrying luggage upstairs.

We wanted a hotel right in the centre and got it, The building itself was well restored and our room was on the second floor so nice and quiet away from the reception area.

Without repeating the other reviews, I cant see how you could beat this place for price or location. Parking is tricky but so is everywhere!

The hotel is very central across the street from the cathedral and within walking distance to all other sites, bars and restaurants.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, we checked in just after mid day and were given a room immediately which overlooked the cathedral.

We were invited to attend the tour of the hotel ruins by the owner which was an. interesting historical commentary, this also included complementary wine, cheese and hams.

The room and furniture was in keeping with the age of the hotel with the added extra of free wifi.

The breakfast was very good, plenty of fresh pastries, hams, cheese, fruit, cereal etc.

The only downfall was we had selfish neighbours who had the tv blasting until gone 2am and as we were awake we also heard every person past on way back from the pub so a poor night sleep.

This little place can't adequately be described because some of its appeal is tactile and olfactory. You know how some old places just have a resonance? It's built on top of a Roman cistern, turned Arabic, turned Catholic, and it played a role in the building of the Catedral de Toledo across the street. The 8:00 pm tour of the excavation is fascinating and you may be treated to the sacramental wine stored down there.
As a place to spend the night, it's for folks who value the experience rather than the accommodations. It's and old building. Rooms are small. We had the"Panoramic View" room on the top floor. The proprietor (love him!) was very proud of it for a good reason. Try for this room if you can.
We only stayed in Toledo one night (a Monday night), and had difficulty finding a restaurant in that area that stayed open late - I think that's only on Monday, though.
The breakfast at Cisneros is a hearty buffet served with the best coffee we had in Spain. Such sweet memories of this place.

Excellent ancient building. Difficult to park a car but the location is prime. The Toledo cathedral is just on the opposite side of the street.
Cozy rooms, comfortable beds. Furniture and interior design with respect to the historic architecture. Service pleasant and available even late in the evening. Tasty breakfast, quite nice choice .

This is a charming small hotel situated on one of the many narrow, cobblestone streets in amazing Toledo. It's a few steps from the magnificent Cathedral on a site that previously served as a stable for animals used during it's construction. There are also Roman ruins in this same area beneath the hotel. Jorge, the hospitable owner, takes his guests on a tour below the hotel, complete with historical commentary, home-made wine and light appetizers. The rooms were clean and the air-conditioning worked well, which was appreciated in the blazing heat of summer. There are many shops, restaurants and endless historical sights within easy walking distance. I hope to return to Toledo and will definitely stay at Casa de Cisneros again!

We spent a few night here including Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is central to everything, including the cathedral which is directly across the street. There are many fine places to eat within easy walking distance; in fact everything is within easy walking distance. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and quiet for a perfect nights sleep. We loved our stay here and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Toledo. They love to show off the areas of the hotel which have many historic surprises.

We recommend a taxi from the train station, which was only a few euros and very easy. Also we would recommend asking in advance for a room with a double bed, as we had a room with two twin beds.
