“any closer and you would be sleeping INSIDE the cathedral”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

We spent a few night here including Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is central to everything, including the cathedral which is directly across the street. There are many fine places to eat within easy walking distance; in fact everything is within easy walking distance. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and quiet for a perfect nights sleep. We loved our stay here and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Toledo. They love to show off the areas of the hotel which have many historic surprises.

We recommend a taxi from the train station, which was only a few euros and very easy. Also we would recommend asking in advance for a room with a double bed, as we had a room with two twin beds.

Fantastic hotel in the center of the old town, perfectly restauraded building and rooms and a nice breakfast. From the hotel you have walkingdistans to a lot of interesting buildings and museums. There are fine bars and restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: Problem to reach by car, very small roads.

The owner is a true gentlemen, the hotel is excellent, and the secret tour of the ancient ruins underneath the hotel are breathtaking (and so is the homemade wine). It is located exactly where you want it and if you can get a room with a panoramic view this is the icing on the cake. You will enjoy this hotel and the bonus historical facts from the owner. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in early September and loved it. We had just flown in from Australia to Madrid and came straight to Toledo. What a good idea to ease into Spain as the town is so lovely and medevil. We had read about this Hostal on TripAdvisor and really enjoyed the stay. The owner is a jovial man and his staff are very sweet even if we ddn't speak the same language. The daily breakfast was AWESOME; jamon, manchego cheese, breads, tomato spread, yoghurt etc. Our room had a nice feel to it, despite having to be in twin beds. Dark because it had original beams in it and yes the showers are TINY, but still, it had character, was clean and in a great location. Also found a tapas bar, University Bar, only 5 minutes walk away that we loved. Overall great stay!

Room Tip: Might want to specify you want a double bed when you ask for double occupancy if you are a couple.

Toledo is a must do! We travel by walking and finding. We caught the local bus from the train station to the Plaza de Zocodover. It wasn't far but a little hard to find with suitcases (cobbles and narrow streets) It's about 10 metres from the main entrance, down a side street, of the cathedral. The owner was enthusiastic, warm and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfortable and with a history. The owner invited us to a tour of the ruins under the hotel and provided information in English and Spanish. He also gave us wine and nibbles. It was just fantastic and free. Breakfast was great and the best coffee ever! Can't recommend it highly enough!

For the price, this hotel deserves an excellent rating. The location, at the side of the Cathedral, across from one of the older doors into it, cannot be bettered. Not only is it possible to reach all tourist attractions easily, but it is also easy to catch a bus etc. to reach the railway station. All amenities are therefore within walking distance. The building is very old. Whilst the rooms were small (but more than sufficient for my purposes) they were comfortable with all conveniences, including air conditioning which was on when I arrived. The owners are very friendly and the introduction to the basement area at c. 8pm is worth participating in.
