“Fabulous view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2011

We just stayed one night here on our way around Spain but the location is so fabulous you could use it as a relaxing base to retire to after sightseeing all day – Toledo certainly merits a day or two of exploring and is floodlit at night, making the view from the hotel terrace really stunning. We were a little apprehensive that there would be an event on at the hotel, as other reviews mentioned that Saturday nights could be noisy and it was a Saturday that we were there. However, although there was music all night from the bar nearby, it was quite faint and did not disturb us and there was no event happening at the hotel. Presumably there often is though as several couples were being shown around the place as a potential wedding venue.

The staff seemed very professional but the room information lost a bit in translation as it said there was a snack bar/café open all day, but in fact you could not get so much as a peanut after 4.00pm until the restaurant opened, which seems curiously un-Spanish. After a big parador breakfast that morning, we didn’t want lunch, just a snack, so we went to the Toledo parador nearby and had a snack on their terrace with an even more stunning view of the city. Back at the hotel, we chose to have tapas that evening, so I can’t comment on the quality of the main meals but the tapas were a mixed bunch. A platter of cold meats was fine, home-made croquettes were pretty good but the hotel speciality dish, described as being of potatoes, chorizo and egg (I was picturing one of those brown earthenware dishes full of tasty local produce) turned out to be chips, sprinkled with crumbled chorizo, wrapped in an egg-white omelette with the yolks in ceramic spoons on the side. Bizarre. Good bottle of local wine, though!

Breakfast was fine, though and the room was lovely – well designed, cool and spacious and with a sitting out area with that fabulous view – there’s a bit more greenery than in some of the photos on the website, so it looks a bit softer. This is a lovely place to stop, just don’t expect a gourmet meal. Having a drink looking at the floodlit view of Toledo is something special.

This is a really good find for a stay in Toledo. I have travelled with other couples and we were all allocated in adjoining rooms with balconies overlooking the old town. There are two wonderful terraces with parasols where you can relax, have a drink or eat. Food was very good too. Pool is on a small size but still a welcoming addition to the hotel on a hot day! Comfortable walk to town, about 20min. Taxi to the centre cost around six euros during the day.

This hotel provided us with a break from the heat and busy streets of Toledo. There was a festival going on when we visited and the city was really busy although it was a great atmosphere.

We walked into Toledo twice, it was quite tough in the 35 degree heat. A taxi was 10euros (usually cheaper than this- but was more expensive because of festival).

We had one of rooms outside on the way to the pool- was quite basic but clean. If I was there again I might ask for another room as it was quite basic for the price. Pool was great although was busy in the afternoon with kids (don't think they were staying at the hotel).

Had dinner at the hotel one evening it was very nice although quite expensive, sat out on the terrace with views over the city. Bar round the front of the hotel was great- has fantastic views over Toledo too.

We had a car but I didn't drive into the old town as the streets were really narrow and parking is supposed to be nightmare. Be prepared to pay for taxis, get the hourly bus or walk up and down serious hills to get to the town. Toledo is well worth a visit, it's a great city. We arrived from Salamanca so it had a lot to live up to, it nearly did!

The best thing about this small hotel is its balconies, which come with every room and look out to the Toledo skyline. Our room looked out to the Alcazar and the cathedral, both lit up in the evenings.
The rooms aren't large, but it's a good size for 2 people. Floors are tiled, double bed was 2 twins pushed together. Our bathroom was spacious, shower was great, and everything was clean. The breakfast featured fresh orange juice and decent choice of cold items. Lobby and breakfast room were tastefully decorated.
Service was very patchy - one young lady was very sullen while others were more friendly.
Two possible areas of concern: noise, and distance from the city. I expected the latter because how else do you get a view? It cost 7euros to cab it there from the train station. We are both walkers so relished the 10-15 min walk into town and back everyday (esp after a big dinner!) The road back to the hotel is slightly uphill but just a little. Toledo seems fairly safe, so wear walking shoes and you'll be fine even if walking at midnight.
My only complaint was the noise coming not only from the busy road, but the Saturday all-night party the hotel bar hosted... there was thumping music until at least 4am, clearly audible in our room. Also two people first loudly banged on the front door then repeatedly rang the buzzer at 3am or so - presumably locked out. We went to Toledo for a quiet break and did not expect this sort of disruption.

We stayed here for just 3 nights late May 2009. Our room, bed and large balcony was very good. The views were excellent and although just off the main ring road it was fairly quiet. The hotel has basic facilities such as a tiny bar , resturant and lounge . The hotel is ok if you require little attention and the receptionist and waiter/ bar person were friendly. The pool is abot 10m length but brilliant after seeing Toledo, however it was drained for 2 out of 3 days during our stay and we were disapointed. A very adequate self service buffet breakfast was included. The walk into Toledo is abot 15min down a steepish busy road.

Portugal, 6-8 October 2006
The hotel is sited at a great place, on the hills that surround Toledo. The inconvenient is that if you dont have a car, you must find a solution to the city because you're around 3 kms far away.
My room (nr. 33) was very well decorated and with excellent view to the city (Alcazar and Cathedral), but with a HUGE problem, it was right above the reception with means if you want to sleep earlier, just forget it! The noise is huge! Since the hotel is small all the rooms are close to something (pool, bar, reception), which makes your stay a little less pleasant. But on the whole is great! Just book it and see for yourself!

  • Liked — Beautiful and clean room
  • Disliked — noise
  • Tips/Secrets — do not chose room 33 - noisy
