This hotel was the first on our "roadtrip" and set the standard fairly high. We had problems finding the hotel because there were some roadworks but the receptionist was extremely helpful and explained another way to get there. The room was spacious with a nice balcony with chairs and table. The car park was expensive, but to be honest there is nowhere to park nearby. I wasn't overly impressed by the breakfast, because when things ran out, they weren't replaced (there was still an hour of brekfast time left). The hotel is in the Jewish quarter, which is lovely, but to get to the main area of the town with restaurants, it's all uphill....just to warn you
. I left a cardigan at the hotel and didn't realise until we were 200 km away. I phoned the hotel and they were kind enough to offer me several options on how to get it back. A special thanks to Alberto on reception.

This was one of the last places we stayed during our 2 1/2 week trip to Italy & Spain, and it was a wonderful way to wrap up the trip. We came in on a late train from Madrid, and the cab ride from the station only took about 10 minutes and cost less than 10 Euro. The desk clerk checked us in quickly and efficiently, and he was quite friendly and outgoing. We enjoyed chatting with him. The room was spacious and comfortable, with LOTS of storage. The bathroom was large, modern and well-appointed.
The hotel is located in the center of the Jewish quarter in Toledo, but pretty much everything in town is within walking distance of the hotel. The included breakfast buffet was very satsifying and included some hot options like scrambled or fried eggs, and bacon or ham.
We had dinner in the attached restaurant in our last night in Toledo, and were quite happy with it. We had the vegetable paella, which was fabulous! I also heartily recommend the Muerte de Chocolate dessert - delicious!
The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful - one of the desk clerks even spent about an hour on the phone with the Spanish Postal Service trying to help my parents with a customs issue. They also arranged for a cab to get us back to the train station after we checked out.
Highly recommend this hotel - 2 wonderful nights in a beautiful town for under $150 - including breakfast!

My husband and I stayed here last month and had our backpack (including our laptop, Garmin navigator, and other important items) stolen from the hotel lobby as we checked in. It is not well publicized, but Toledo is known to have a relatively high crime rate, as we found out from the police when we completed our police report. We were very guarded with our luggage except for a few seconds when we turned to check in with the front desk. That was all the time the thief needed to walk from the front of the lobby, grab our bag and quickly walk straight out the back of the lobby through the restaurant and to the street. Unfortunately the hotel lobby is setup perfectly for a thief: they can easily walk in the front door and out the restaurant within seconds.

The hotel staff, of one person or rarely two, is quickly overwhelmed when more than one person is checking in. When busy, the lone staff member is unable to keep an eye on lobby happenings. It’s disappointing that the hotel management doesn’t take steps to improve security for its patrons. The hotel does not have any security cameras in the lobby, nor do they provide enough staff to be able to check people in and keep an eye on people coming and going. Maybe they could close the door at the back of the lobby going to the restaurant and make it accessible with the patron's room key; this would at least make it a more difficult for a thief to walk in the front of the hotel and out the back so quickly.

We have stayed at other hotels in Spain that also have a high crime rate in the area and they have taken extra steps to ensure the security of their patrons. In the case of Casa Camper, near La Rambla in Barcelona, they have two sets of doors to walk through to get to the lobby and the inner door requires a key to enter the lobby. This allows them to keep an eye on the people who are coming through the second set of doors to make sure they are checking in or are patrons of the hotel. They also staff the front desk with enough personnel to be able to keep an eye on the lobby area and in turn provide safety and security to their patrons.

On a positive note, the gentleman that was at the front desk that day was very nice and helpful when he was notified of the theft. The hotel room itself was comfortable and clean. The actual location of the hotel is removed enough from the touristy areas, but close enough to experience the town.

Because the theft colored our entire visit to Toledo, including the hotel and their lack of security and staff, we feel we can only rate this 2 stars and hope that other travelers will be as cautious in Toledo as they are in the big cities with publicized high crime rates.

We are very sorry about the situation created during your stay with us.
We are working very hard to improve our security system to make sure that it doesn't happen again and we are studying some budget to get security camaras in the comun areas.
Again I do apologise and hopefully in a future you decide to come back to Toledo to delete the bad regards you must have.
Thanks.

This beautiful hotel, in the old Jewish Quarter of Toledo, is very close to the Cathedral and Monastery and is within five minutes walk to the old town. Staff were extremely helpful and our room was spacious, clean, bathroom adequate but bed a little on the firm side (for my liking).

The breakfast room was light and welcoming with a varied selection but coffee, as elsewhere in Spain, was too strong and bitter for me. This hotel has a lovely bar within and also an outside street-side area serving the most wonderful tapas and wine/beers to enjoy while absorbing the local atmosphere.

Fully recommended.

We stayed two nights, end of September. This is the peaceful side of Toledo, yet close to many sites, ten minutes walk to the main square, and in the Jewish quarter. Close by are many shos, bars, restaurants, and we found a wonderful riverside path we walked for half an hour, which is no more than five minutes away, by the old roman pedestrian bridge.
Our room was very clean, great bathroom, and staff are friendly. Buffet breakfast was superb.
Highly recommend this when staying to do the two day tour you need to take in all of Toledo, and far enough away from the main tourist areas to make it feel like an oasis.

Stayed for 1 night, when travelling from the UK to Southern Spain. The hotel is in a great location and is an impressive building. Our room was on the top floor, was a good size and clean. Breakfast was superb. Would definitely recommend.
