This is a fresh little place; cheery colors in our room, very quiet at night. After 3 weeks in Europe, I had caught a nasty cold, and this was a good place to rest. The location was good for me because it was far enough away from the touristy part of town to be quiet, and it had a nice view of the river. About the only bummer is that you have to hike up the hill 5 minutes to get anything to eat, which is the last thing I wanted to do in my condition, but other than that, it was great.

One side note: the doors do not automatically lock!!! This is the first hotel I've been to where you have to physically lock the door with the key (on both sides). If you know that, no big deal, but if you're used to hotel doors automatically locking as I suspect most people are, then you might accidentally leave your door unlocked here (as we did the first day!).

We rely a lot on TripAdvisor reviews when we travel, and this time was no exception. We scoured the site for the best recommendations in several cities in Spain and settled on Casona de la Reyna for our two nights in Toledo.

It's a small, cute hotel about a 5-10 uphill walk away from the center of town. I actually loved the location because the walk forced us to explore several nooks and crannies that we may have missed otherwise. Toledo is a very small, contained town so everything is within walking distance - and you should consider walking it all!

I'll agree with earlier reviewers that Casona de la Reyna was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The two twin beds pushed together weren't particularly comfy, but the room was exceptionally quiet, and we slept well. We even had the room next to the housekeeping closet and didn't hear a peep.

A couple of notes just to help you know what to expect. The complimentary toiletries are in packets, not bottles, so if you're big on soap instead of bath gel, you may want to bring your own. The room was small (but again, cute and quiet and exceptionally clean) so if you're looking for something big and glamorous, go elsewhere. If you want a fantastic deal in a really adorable hotel just on the edge of a very special town, this is the spot.

We stayed at the Casona de la Reyna over New Year's. While the rooms are of a reasonable size as is the price, the level of service and cleanilness did leave room for improvement.

Both the bedroom and bathroom looked like it needed a good clean. When we commented on it, we were told that there were no other rooms available and that the cleaning staff had already gone. Also, that if we were able to find a room at another hotel, that we would still have to pay with one night. This was far from a good welcome or reasonable service in my view.

The breakfast stff is not much better. They are more concerned with getting you to sign the bill, to make sure you are charged, then refilling the empty coffee or juice. When asked, they just said later.

Given the fact that there are a number of other three-star htoels in Toledo, I would not recommend the Casona from our experience.

One of the cleanest hotels I ever stayed in. You would not consider it a luxury hotel, the room was more like a Swiss chalet, but the cleanliness was exceptional.

About a ten minute walk from the center of town, but the walk is pleasant. Great buy for the money.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in cold Toledo November. We arrived by car and what is important the hotel is easily accesible which is not always the case in meadieval towns. Rooms are execellent - nicely decorated, clean and bathroom is delivered with a stylish touch and you appreciate the effort to turn this old house into modern buildings with all the infrastructure of a modern hotel. I sleep in a few hotels around Europe every year and I was impressed with how well we slept in this hotel. maybe it was great bed - big and confortable, maybe the silence (the hotel window was to the side street). Anyway an important address for those tired after all day sight seeing of this magnificient town.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights from 18th February. Clean well decorated room overlooking River Tajo. Parking on street just outside, although hotel has own car park. Buffet style breakfast of cold meats, cheese, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and pastries was superb. Staff extremely friendly and courteous and gave excellent recommendation to visit Aranjuez and Chinchon, as we had time to spare before catching flight back to London. At GBP50 for room and breakfast per night, it represented excellent value. Location at southern end of city means there is an uphill climb into the centre through the narrow cobbled streets, although a bus stop is just outside the hotel on the opposite side of the road. We would recommend to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable no-nonsense type of hotel at a good price. Casona de la Reyna is part of a national hotel chain, which operates two other hotels in Toledo. Toledo itself is a charming historic city with plenty to see and do. If you like marzipan, you may never want to leave!!

We booked out two night stay with our daughter and her family for a little getaway to see the sites.

The hotel was a nice surprise. it was cute and well decorated, in style that fit in with the history of its setting.

We had two rooms, each was very large for European standards and the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very modern with nice hot water.

Our room came with the breakfast included, which was served in an attractive breakfast room with the standard breakfast items. The only disappointment was that the coffee was always luke warm.

The hotel is a pretty far uphill walk from the center of the city, but we started taking the bus which stops right across the street, and that was just fine.

The check in went smoothly and the desk agents were very helpful with calling a taxi and suggesting restaurants.

We give this place an enthusiastic thumbs up and would definitely go back again.
