“Didn't understand as no displays in English”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

We went a Saturday, so there was no fee, Thank God. The guard laughed when we inquired and said the visit was on him. That was the best part the visit. Since we had just come from the Greco Museum with displays also in English, there were none here. They had some reading cards, but it was so dark, I couldn't tell if any were in English, after searching the racks.. So, I couldn't learn anything!

“Jewish History in Spain”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

Museo Sefardi, Sinagoga del Transito and Museo de El Greco; these three sites can be seen with a combo ticket for 5 euros and are located next to each other with the Sinagoga del Transito adjoining the Museo Sefardi. Although the museum is beautifully displayed, it didn’t hold my interest. They do offer an audio guide, which maybe I should have used, but each room has plaques on the wall with information about the contents of the room, otherwise signage is in Spanish. The synagogue is beautiful and the museum flows from the synagogue on two stories. The Synagogue maybe also be viewed from the upper Ladies gallery.

“Fascinating History”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

The interplay among the Islamic, Jewish and Christian populations of Spain is a fascinating part of the country's history. This Museum and Synagogue contains exhibits illuminating the history of Jews in Spain. It is a history that is both sad and instructive for our own times. Highly recommended
