Owner description: One of the most imposing cathedrals in Spain, and a superb example of Gothic architecture.

Words can never adequately convey a magnificent cathedral. This one is spectacular. We went all the way up in the bell tower - quite a long climb but worth the effort. Worth the time and the fee.

Sadly, during visiting hours the cathedral itself is only a tourist place, with no religious feeling left among the crowds walking about chatting to each other and taking photographs with their digital cameras. No chanting, no solemn hush, the pipes of the great battle organ are dumb. The speakers on the audio-guide don't help either. One of them can't pronounce 'ambulatory'; the other can't even pronounce 'Toledo' !

The pictures in the sacristy are breathtaking though - Van Dyck, Raphael, Caravaggio, Goya, El Greco among others… And the cloister is still beautiful.

You must go and see ! There are no words to explain what it does mean, or history expressed that your eyes must see.

This is a beautiful and amazing architecture - one of the best cathedrals I have visited while travelling in Spain. The building was magnificently grand in its structure, its many stain glass windows were beautiful, and its carvings, statues and inner structures (ie main altar and chapels, etc) were exquisite. I especially loved the paintings and artworks in the cathedral.

I took a guided tour through the cathedral and I found it really useful. You need to know the history in order to really understand the meaning behind the building and the artworks.

Despite being a single building, it does take time to look through everything, especially with crowds of tourists at the place. I needed to queue in certain places so I recommend to you to reserve enough time to visit the cathedral in order to fully appreciate it.

This cathedral certainly had the wow factor. Audio was automatic with the entry fee and it worked well, except we couldn't find all the numbers! There was a lot to see inside and lots of people trying to see it!
