Besides the cathedral where we spent over an hour, the town is charming. Walk the cobblestone streets, stop for marzipan, walk across the bridge, and drive up to the lookout. We left Madrid about 9:30 and got back about 4 in time to do some sightseeing there as well.

The Cathedral of Toledo is an imposing example of Gothic architecture that is not to be missed. The Sacristy is filled with paintings by El Greco and one or two by Goya. Tickets are purchased at a ticket office across the street, and the queue can look bad since the ticket office is not big. But it's worth the slight hassle and the fee.

Went on day trip, was fantastic. Absolutely stunning inside. The audio guide provided great context. Easy to get to from Renfe. If you walk towards the town there is and escalator that takes you to the top of the city and you can save lots of energy. Great day trip, saw all of Toledo in 6 hours. The city is a must not miss if in madrid

Toledo is a very easy day trip from Madrid on the AVANT rail. The Cathedral is the main attraction and worth a visit. Used the audio guide which helped explain a little more of the significance of what you were looking at. Beautiful church.

Admission fee was 12.5 euros including audio guide.. Actually long queue to buy the tickets... It is an amazing cathedral..It is 13th century Gothic cathedral (Catedral Primada Santa María de Toledo).. Toledo is located at the top of the hills and hilly area. Very narrow road... Especially I could see El Greco's famous painting " The Disrobing of Christ" You can see El Greco's another painting : "The Burial of the Count of Orgaz" at Santo Tome Church" near the Toledo Cathedral. Lots of painting of the great artists were in the cathedral.. Must see place in Toledo and especially in Spain. Toledo is very near from Madrid, by just 30 minutes express rail. Lots of tourist visit Toledo from Madrid. I stayed Toledo overnight and I can see other churches, synagogue in Toledo.. Next time, when I visit Toledo again, I must visit this cathedral again...

I've traveled to Europe quite a bit and like the old churches a lot. I have not been to Rome yet, but that said this church is the best. It is amazing in every aspect. The alter is gold. It's huge arched ceiling is quite high. There are statues and paintings everywhere. It's really completely amazing.

It is €10 to get into the cathedral, this includes an audio guide which provides a great tour of the cathedral. The cathedral is truly stunning the main chapel, choir and fresco are breathtakingly beautiful. This was one of our top 2 from our trip to Madrid.

We hesitated because it is a bit pricey. 10 euros per person to enter the cathedral. But we decided to go for it anyway and we didn’t regret it. The cathedral is amazing. It is very beautiful and with the audio guide you get all the details about every inch of it.

Visited Catedral Primada Toledo on a day out from Madrid. The train is super fast 33 mins from Madris and a lovely walk from the train station over the roman bridge and up to the Cathedral which is in the centre of the town. Amazing Cathedral external and internal. Try and take a tour as it is well worth it as there is so much to see.
