“Small old town, Break from the party scene of Madrid and Barcelona”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

Worth a Visit. Interesting lanes, bylanes, Nice cathedral which was Mosque+ Cathedral+ Jewish Worship place all in one. Bull Fight Ring is also there which is still operational. At one time this was capital of Spain when Spain used to rule over the Americas in 15-16 th century. So effectively the capital before Washington DC. The town is like a small "Fort Town" in Rajasthan(India) like Jaisalmer.

If you have time on hand come on your own from Madrid.
Train (15 Euro) and Bus (9 Euro) return are good options. Add another 10 odd Euros for entry fees and and in 20-25 euros you have your half day trip set.

If you want a better perspective of history then take a Tour. Multiple operators come, They charge 45-50 Euros. We came with Pullmantur Tours. They themselves had few bookings on the days and merged with another tour company.

“Beautiful Cathedral”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

This is a beautiful example of a gothic designed Cathedral. The size of the place is the first thing that hits you such a massive structure and it is best to set aside a couple of hours to take in all the splendor that the cathedral offers.

“Outstanding monument - a must”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

Once you find the right entrance to the cathedral, you have to buy a ticket in a shop opposite the entrance. Not cheap, but an audio guide is included in the price. If you are reasonably fit, make sure that you include a visit to the tower - well worth the extra cost. The interior contains outstanding works of art, including a sizable collection of El Greco's paintings. No restrictions on photography - although the use of a flash is not allowed - it would be useless anyway, considering the size of the cathedral.

“Must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

This is one of the places you must see. I will skip what actually you can see in the cathedral because you will find it in many publications. For entry price you will get audio guide. Very helpful. The place is vast so reserve at least 2 - 3 hours.

“Highlight of Toledo - a must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

We visited Madrid for 2 days and took a day trip to Toledo. What a beautiful, historic town. It feels like you are back in those years when they weren't modernized like they are today. So much of the structure remained the same. Smack in the middle of all of this, is the Cathedral of Toledo. Pictures don't do it justice. It is majestic. If you're in Toledo, you must go visit it or at least take a picture in front of it and then take a walking tour along the beautiful, narrow cobble stone streets of Toledo.
