Toledo was quite warm in mid April after a long cold winter and this was near the Puente San Martin where we had parked to walk across into Toledo on a lovely warm evening. A short walk up the hill and we decided to sit outside to eat. The waiter was extraordinarily helpful and we had a variety of tapas and good cold Cerveza. A wonderful evening.

We stopped by after reading the TripAdvisor review and were glad we did. The location of El Embrujo is perfect with a nice view of a church from the terrace. We ordered the beef with onions and the pork as was recommended by some customers and it was delicious! Excellent house wine, great atmosphere! I definitely recommend this place.

This was a very good restaurant that gets by on its food and service rather than its proximity to some attraction. We searched Embrujo out on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The restaurant prominently displays a Tripadvisor sticker on its entrance so they are well aware of their reputation.
The place is a modest affair having maybe eight tables and a bar. As we live in Andalucia we are accustomed to dinner starting very late and service being non-existatnt so we were surprised to find many people dining already when we arrived just after eight and all Spanish speakers at that. Our waiter promptly took our drink order, returning a short time later to tell us about the dishes and the large portions fit for sharing. Well we ordered several starters and two main courses but the waiter informed us that we were ordering too much! Who does that? Aren't they supposed to push the product?
He recommended that we get just one entree to share and that if we were still hungry we could order the other. It was sound advice.
We had a simple salad that comes, as in much of Spain, with hard-boiled egg and fantastic olive oil-packed tuna, followed by tempura style vegetables which were excellent. We then had a wonderful duck breast dish that was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside fet still medium in the center. It had a delicious Pedro Jiminez ruction sauce on one side and a frambiouse sauce on the other. It was complemented by an out of this world apple compote...really, REALLY GOOD.
All throughout the waiter was attentive, refreshing drinks when needed, and inquiring as to whether or not we had enough food...which we did, he was right. All this for much less than 30 euro and all in the heart of beautiful Toledo.

We visited the taberna on 31 March 2013 and were not disappointed. The food is traditional and tasted wonderful. The young waiter was very dynamic and friendly. All in all a nice place to go if you enjoy a busy and family run restaurant with a personal touch.

We were able to get a table even though the place was packed on a Wednesday night. The service was excellent and our waiter gave us advice (all in Spanish, but we managed okay) on which dishes to try and how much to order. We had patatas bravas and grilled mushrooms, followed by magret of duck with caramelized apples, and sauteed squid (chiperones). All of the food was delicious and, thanks to our friendly waiter, we had just the right amount. My daughter had a chocolate dessert which she said was wonderful. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food, and the atmosphere was great, with a mix of young and older people, some locals, some tourists. Some people drank wine and had a tapas or two, others had more substantial dinners. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. We'd recommend the restaurant and would love to go back.
