Easy to get to as it is near the top of one of the escalators into town. The staff were wonderful: friendly and ready to guide you if you needed help. We shared several different raciones all of which were superb being fresh and delicious. The best was a pork stew called Magro-the name meaning thin- being ironic given the amount we ate of it! The place was heaving but felt jolly and relaxed and the waiters were so patient given how hard they were working. A brilliant place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in this friendly and lively taverna. We arrived early (for Spain) at 8pm and it was soon packed with locals. The waiter was great and helped us when we over ordered (not being used to raciones) by suggesting what to go for. Every dish was wonderful, fresh and tasty but we all loved the Magro which was a pork stew. Sadly the restaurant was to be closed the next night or we would have returned but the owner said that his son's tavern La Fabula would be open and was similar so we tried it and were delighted with that too. Excellent wine at El Embrujo and we loved the busy but friendly atmosphere.

We ate at this tapas bar twice. It's not fancy but the food was very good, the service was excellent and the wine very good.

We sought out this restaurant after seeing such good reviews on TA, and weren't disappointed!

It's a family-run place, and the English-speaking son was really helpful in explaining the menu and how it works: He recommended sharing dishes, and pointed out that they serve half-portions too, which were a lovely idea, and so cost-effective - We couldn't have managed full portions!

The food is really well-cooked and very local. We had the pork stew and some fish, plus fabulous roasted vegetables (a rarity in Spain, we find!). The red wine was delicious too.

We sat at a raised table with a very interesting glass top, displaying all sorts of delights underneath!

The restaurant was full of locals and a few tourists, so a good mix.

If you like a local vibe, with real Spanish food, this is for you!

(Apparently Fabula, a restaurant just up the road, is run by the brother, but was closed at the time we went).

Other reviews said it was hard to find so we just went to the tourism info center at the train station and asked them to mark it on the map. There are taxis there so we took a taxi from the station to the restaurant, 4,80 EUR for 2 people. Definitely worth it considering the steep hike up! We ordered the beef with onions and the pork as others suggested, and they were both great! Pork better IMO, and free fresh bread. We had our own water bottles. Then we walked to the cathedral which wasn't too far but was uphill. Overall, highly highly recommend! Also, they open at 11:30 for lunch. Ask for both the Spanish and English menus!
