Well, the view just took our breath away. Rooms were big and the beds were extremely comfortable. However our room was quite dark and the air con was not even cold.

We were there around the 10th June and the pool was due to open on the 15th. So it was such a shame, as the weather was 30deg plus!! Also, isn't June the offical start to summer??? I feel, it should have been ready for opening even a little before June judging by the temperature! Disappointing as we purposely stayed somewhere nicer to have the use of a pool.

We went out on the terrace for lunch. I cannot rave enough about the view. But the experience was marred by the extremely slow service, the rude staff and the expensive bill. I cannot believe how rude the staff were for a hotel as 'good' as that.

There were lots of other hotels up there probably with the same view, so I would try another one next time.

This parador has fantastic views of Toledo from across the river gorge that encircles the city. Even if you don't stay here, it's worth it to sit on the terrace with a drink and tapas watching the sunset. The rooms are austere yet spacious, like those of many paradors, and feature lovely balconies with wood rails and chairs, some of which overlook the pool. It's essential to reserve for dinner or lunch as soon as you arrive, because the place is packed with tourists. The restaurant staff were somewhat harried, but the food was of a good standard, and the menu included several regional dishes of game such as partridge (paradors are good at featuring local specialties). A car is imperative, but after visiting Toledo with its tourists and motorbikes careening through narrow streets, you will be glad to return to the haven of the parador, to be awakened by birdsong. The building is new but in keeping with the local architecture, and the rooms are happily silent.

We paid for a room with a view and it was breathtaking- fell in love with Toledo immediately! The hotel itself is in the style of an old country house, so is all dark wood and rustic. The room was fabulous, with an enormous bed, all the usual parador comforts, whirlpool bath and a balcony on the terrace. That alone was worth the price- wow.
OK, if you dont have a car, you should stay in town as you will end up getting cabs up and down that huge hill, but we drove and had no problem parking. Staff also could not have been more helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for something a bit special.

Yes, we did like the Parador. Rooms good sized, nice bathroom, but fridge was so noisy that despite asking for it to be fixed it still had to be turned off so that we could get some sleep. The views are fantastic, the staff were very helpful and polite. Toledo itself does have atmosphere, the cathedral and the respective synagogues are impressive. Eating out was a bit disappointing though. We looked out for where the locals went but didn't really understand why. Basically this city gets so many tourists it doesn't have to try too hard for custom. And that's a shame. There are places to go to in Spain that easily beat this one. But I suppose you still have to go and make up your own mind...

We stayed here for our first night in Spain just right after we arrived in Madrid on September 16, 2005. We took a bus between Estacion Sur de Autobus (South Bus Station)in Madrid and Toledo and it was an hour ride. We arrived at the hotel a bit early so our room was not ready and we were asked wait for a few minues.

While we were waiting, we sat at the terrace and had nice Spanish white wine and olives with a great city view. When the room was ready, the staff informed us and took us to the room where the view of the city from the terrace was absolutely magnificent. If you decide to stay at this Parador, it is definitely worth it to book a room with a city view. The room itself was very nice. Spacious and luxurious with a wonderful bathroom.

We had planned to have dinner in Toledo, but after a day of sightseeing, we were tired and decided to eat at the Parador restaurant. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time to get a table: at least 2 hours! The food was pretty good - not incredible, but not bad at all - and we strongly recommend if you think you might want to eat there, you should book the dinner reservation at the same time you book your hotel room.

One last thing: the reason we didn't dine in Toledo is because it's a bit of a drive from the hotel. With the wonderful view of the city comes a slight inconvenience: the only way to get from the hotel to the city is with a taxi (you can walk, but it's going to take at least half an hour).
