We have stayed in several Paradors so knew what to expect and we weren't disappointed. The Parador sits atop a hill opposite the medieval city so the views from the large well decorated and luxurious bedrooms are fantastic. We also had a balcony which we weren't expecting as the booking service seemed to suggest either view or balcont - so always go for a view room and you will still be able to sit out. The bed was enormous - almost too big but very comfortable and you can change your pillow type if you wish.
The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath which I tried but must admit wasn't as good as it sounds. The shower was excellent. We had no problem with flooding that others have mentioned. It was also good having a separate toilet.
We stayed for 2 nights on their half board deal. The service was excellent. I love the little glass of ice cold sherry you are given before dinner - wouldn't think of drinking it in the UK but somehow works in this setting. Bread is plentiful and the water is free. There is also an amuse bouche given at some point.
We love paradors and so far have not ben disappointed in the quality at any of them. They are more expensive than the average hotel but they are much better than the average hotel and usually are quirky buildings with some history. If you are planning a treat, stay here

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view - probably rooms over the cafe have the best of the sun so stay here Spring/Early Summer but rooms over the restaurant would be cooler in Summer

We stayed one night mid March in a double bed with a terrace. The room was nice but the selling point is the fantastic view. The breakfast was okay - we stayed at other hotels that had better. The staff was extremely helpful.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a room with a view

We just stayed here one night after having flown into Madrid and then were headed to Consuegra and then Cordoba. Room was comfortable; we had a 55 and older "Golden days" promotional getaway deal so it was reasonably priced ($200) including breakfast. Bathroom floor does get soaked from shower....The paradors we saw have the best views of each city. This parador has seen better days decor-wise but it was fine for the one night we spent in it. Free parking at the Parador. We drove into town and parked at a very inexpensive (less than one euro) public parking area. We first walked around the town, ate local dishes in a tiny tavern, and then took the double decker bus tour around Toledo and LOVED IT!

Room Tip: If you have a car (free parking), you can park it (cheaply) on the outskirts of Toldeo and walk in to the city center

My experience with the Parador in Toledo started with the booking a number of months beforehand. I found the experience difficult and confusing – there are a number of price promotions the t&cs of which I found unclear.

On arrival I found check-in a stressful and difficult process. It turned out there was some confusion about what exactly I had booked, and to get the half-board package I thought I had booked was going to cost considerably more than I had expected. Feeling as if I had been put on the spot, in exasperation I opted for B&B only in the end.

Once check-in was completed everything else was great. The rooms were excellent. The one with the view had a balcony with two chairs and a table and a fantastic view of the city and river. It was a little cold to make good use of it, but we appreciated having the space. One thing to note is that the outside space is in fact one large terraced shared by adjoining rooms, with your space separated off by a light wrought iron railing. It was no bother to us, but some might be put off by the lack of privacy outside.

The room was large and comfortable, with nice armchairs, a fridge, solid oak wardrobe, whirlpool bath etc.

We also had a second room “without a view”. It was similarly appointed, but without access to the terrace or a bath.

The breakfast buffet was very good. There was a generous selection, with some quirky items. The fruit and fresh juices were the highlight for me.

Although the Parador is only 600 metres from the city centre, there is a river and gorge in between. We mainly used taxis (€10 each way), but we also got the bus (about €1.40 each way) and we walked. The walk in is downhill all the way (with a steep climb at the very end) and is very pleasant and safe. The walk home would be a lot more challenging.

Although our stay in the Parador Toledo was expensive, I felt it was worth it and enjoyed it greatly. An improved website showing transport options to Toledo, clearly defined room categories, availability and pricing would improve the experience.

Room Tip: It's worth paying extra for a room with a view.

This Parador has an amazing view over Toledo City. Reception staff were very helpful. We had a lovely room with partial view of the city. The Jacuzzi did not work the first night, but was fixed on reporting it immediately.. There were some nice quiet areas too, the only fault was that the cafeteria was a bit limited. The restaurant made up for it. Had 2 very good dinners , breakfasts were also amazing. If you have a Sat Nav, parking in Toledo is not too difficult, its a very compact city with a wonderful Cathedral and other treasures. Would certainly go again.A little more care with bathroom cleaning would have been great.
