“Horrible- racist staff!! BEWARE”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2012

We read the good reviews on tripadvisor and decided to have lunch in this restaurant.

We were 3 and when we entered the place it was half empty. Websaw at least 7 empty tables, an terrace was completely empty.

We were coldly greeted by the grumpy female waiter who told us that we can sit at table 2. As we were getting to our table, an older man (the owner maybe) came over and told us that the restaurant was full. This was a complete lie, as we counted at least 7 empty tables and it was early for a lunch in Spain.

It was clear that the only reason we were refused was because we looked like foreigners.

Awful place - avoid !!!

“The best”

After 5 days in Spain, meson de la ozra was the first good restorant to eat in. It was great. You must tast the duck in orange sauce and the mixed salad. If you are in Toledo don't miss it.

“Fabulous”

Had an amazing meal here when we visited in April. Food was outstanding, service great and atmosphere wonderful. This was our first meal in Spain, what a way to start. Handy to the Hotel Pintor el Greco around the corner. Just wish it would open earlier than 8:30, we North Americans usually eat a little earlier, but it was worth the wait.

Superb find in Toledo for a late Spanish lunch! We had salad, goat and beef, rounded off with a yummy natillas de marzipan. Warm welcome from the staff, good Spanish authentic classy restaurant, to be recommended!!

“Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

A wonderfully characteristic and very intimate place with outside tables if you wish for Al fresco.. but we preffered to eat inside for the atmosphere and sumptuous decor, nice & cool inside too.
The Restaurant itself is situated in the Jewish quarters near to the El Greco Museum and Synagogue. For us it was perfect as we stayed at the Hotel Pinto right across the road from the restautrant.
The waiters were fabulous, extremely attentive, friendly and very patient with my husbands courageous attempts of Spanish speak. Best of all was the most delicious food. We ordered the Foie Gras with figs and the Castillian Soup (served with an egg!)..for starters.. and the the suckling Lamb and the iberian pork with rosemary sauce. It was all superb or "increible" as they say in Spain and very well presented. In reference to the price..The starters may appear to be a little on the expensive side but the mains I thought were a reasonable price, but in Spain they do make something more of their Primera courses. So lets say it is a meal that would be classed a a "special" one, and well worth spalashing out for. In saying that we thought that the wine was very reasonably priced and when we asked for recommendation on the white, the waiter did not automatically go for the most expensive (makes a change), the bottle we chose was only 12Euros.
All in all I would most certainly recommend this Restaurant 100%, with alluringly scrumptious food and a very charming and amicable service.
