“Perfect location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

The hotel has a perfect location at the end of the promenade, with a view overlooking the bay. Buses to the centre of Santander were every few minutes (walk to the second roundabout for a frequent service), or a taxi was just 4-5 euros. There is plenty of free parking in the street outside and a small hotel car park.

The room itself was in good condition overall - slightly dated - but with a small balcony with spectacular views. The service at the front desk and the cafeteria were very good. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit!

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony!

We took a taxi from the bus station for about 9 euros but the number 2 bus stops about 200 m from the hotel. The taxi back to the airport was about 23 euros but can be done by 2 buses. The buses to the airport run every half hour.
The hotel is at the end of the esplanade but it is a wonderful walk back along the beach. The rooms are very fresh but they maximise space so the balcony was well used. The staff at reception are very helpful and most are fluent in english. There was some exuberence by some guests at 11pm one night but the staff quickly quieted things down and I imagine it is a rare occurrance.
There are many local places to eat . You get tapas all day but meals are limited to eary afternoon and after 8pm or 830

The service at this hotel was excellent. We were planning to stay only one night but one of us was not feeling well enough to travel on. We asked reception if there was a doctor nearby we could visit. They said they would send one to us. He came within 20 mins. We were surprised when checking out, that the hotel had covered the cost of the consultation and we were not charged for it at all. Breakfast was buffet style and offered many choices. The first room we had been offered was large but only had a small window. The second one we took was a bit smaller but had a nice window overlooking the beach. The hotel is at the quieter end of town. There are lovely walks available on the beach itself or from the back of the hotel to nearby small bays. We would choose this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the sea, they are brighter.

Modern hotel for convenient one night stay before starting a road trip. Easy to find from ferry in a very nice location. We had a lovely big, modern room, spacious bathroom and balcony overlooking glorious beach. Excellent breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit, always a good sign, but little choice for evening meal in the cafe bar. Restaurant looked nice but menu was expensive.

We stayed here for four nights recently. The rooms (our party had two seperate rooms) were extremely small and dark. Probably fine for just one night but not for any longer really - definitely got cabin fever when we spent any length of time in the room! The wifi, as mentioned by others, was pretty patchy. It's in a nice spot though, overlooking the beach, and was only about ten minutes from the centre of town on the city buses that stopped about five minutes from the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant though, both at reception and in the restaurant (where we had a lovely meal).

We stayed at this hotel the first time we visited Santander it is a very good hotel clean comfortable good breakfast close to the beach and bars. It has a lovely area at the front of the hotel to sit outside with a drink and watch the world go by. At the back of the hotel if you venture up the steps you can view the coastline it is a very pleasant walk but only for the very active if you go all the way you will find a lovely beach to go down to if you have the energy as it is a long way down. The bus stop is close by to take you into town or to the ferry about 15 mins. We would have stayed here when we visted again but like to try different hotels but we highly recommened it and will stay here again sometime. We love the trip on Brittany Ferries Pont Avon from Portsmouth and will probably go again this year.
