“Great location and comfortable rooms”
Reviewed May 22, 2012

Excellent location, just across the road from the beach, with sea views from all the rooms. We stayed there twice and, on both occasions, had a large comfortable room with a balcony, and a stylish bathroom. The hotel is on the edge of town, so parking was no problem. When the hotel’s free car park was full, there was plenty of space in the road, though this was in May – I can imagine that it might be busier in high summer. On the other hand, if you want to eat, it’s a bit of a hike if you don’t fancy the (rather expensive) restaurant or the unimpressive choice in the café. Having said that, I must add that breakfast is exceptionally good, in terms of both quality and quantity.

We arrived by car and stayed at the Chiqui for one night prior to our ferry sailing the next day, the rooms are bright, clean and modern with a balcony overlooking the beach, we personally found the beds very comfortable, the staff a were helpful and very efficient, we did not eat in the a la carte restaurant in the hotel but instead chose to use the hotels cafeteria/ tapas bar which seemed very popular with the locals and served us good meal which was reasonably priced, for a twin room for the night with a full buffet breakfast for two it was €75 for the night, there was plenty of free parking out the front but this was in March, as said in other reviews the views from he room are fantastic and when I return to Santander I would not hestate to stay here again.

We stayed at the Chiqui out of season, and as a result got a great deal, which when you consider the sea views, and the fact that it was almost hitting 20 celsius in December is fantastic! The location is fine, the Sardinero Beach is spitting distance, although you'll need a car/taxi/bus to get to the city centre. The rooms are modern, somewhat minimalist, and very comfortable. I would happily return to the Chiqui!

This hotel is right on the beach. Every room has a SEA VIEW apart from the FANTASTIC Wheelchair adapted room which had a massive roll in shower. Large room with room under bed for hoist. Wooden floors for easy access. However NO BALCONY, AND A VERY HIGH WINDOW that i could not see out off . So we decided to take a non adapted room with a huge balcony and sea view. We where here only one night but wishes it was more. Excelent location, great resturant. Service was a little slow but worth the wait. The walk along the promanade to the casino is ramped all the way. Will return.

This is a superbly located hotel on Sardinero beach, only ten minutes from the ferry to Plymouth and Portsmouth. The reception staff were particularly helpful when we needed secure parking for our bike-laden car and did not charge us for the extra eight hours' parking after we had checked out. The room was small but clean and adequate, with sea views (although no balcony- we booked late). The restaurant was good, with typical dishes from the region. There was a self-serve buffet breakfast with a very large choice and no feeling of being rushed after service had closed. There was a busy outside cafe, popular with locals, and also a cocktail lounge. The hotel is situated at the end of the beach, in the lee of a promontory, upon which there is a clifftop footpath, giving panoramic views of the sea and surrounding coastline. This was a lovely place in which to spend our final day before catching the ferry. The bonus was that the ferry company informed the hotel that the ship was delayed, so we were prevented from unnecessary queuing and could enjoy a few more hours at the resort.
This is also an ideal place for families and beach lovers.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view. Book early to get a balcony.

We had a phenomenal time at this hotel. Outstanding service, outstanding food, outstanding location, outstanding environment. We felt treated like family, and all the employees went out of their way to make sure everything was just right.
My 11-yo daughter adds "this was such a fantastic hotel! Can we go back next time?".
We will.
My only suggestion... a small shelf in the walk-in shower to put the soap, champoo, etc. I do not like to put them on the floor...
