We normally avoid restaurants which have people on the street trying to drum up trade however we decided to make an exception for La Hierbita because of the reviews on TripAdvisor and I'm really glad we did.
The restaurant is in an amazingly labyrinthine: it is in a wonderful old Canarian building.
There are many tasty local dishes on the menu and they have some good local wines.
The service was professional and friendly.
Definitely worth a try!

The desk staff in the NH hotel advised La Hierbita when we asked for the best place to eat fish. One would not find it by chance, so we did well having asked. We had the best fish meal since a long time, a fish called "Vieja", which is only caught in the Azores and the Canary Islands. A true and unexpected delicacy, preceded by excellent gambas a la plancha. A nice bottle of local white wine, coffee and an offered liqueur, made the bill come to under Eur 50! Very friendly service, to be recommended highly!

Located in an old house, still split into several rooms. We visited twice and enjoyed the reasonably priced traditional Canarian food, served by friendly and efficient staff. Very popular with local people who impart a lively atmophere. We particularly enjoyed Sunday lunch there. Just one word of caution - it's nice to sit outside but there is an inevitable fly hazard if you do.

My friend and I happened upon this place accidentally in February 2012 and had the most wonderful lunchtime experience with great food and wine and really friendly staff.

We returned yesterday 1 year later and we're greeted like old friends by the waiter after having only spent a few hours there before which was amazing considering the number of people who pass through.

The interior is very old and traditional. Well worth a visit.
