Just returned from a week here. It was excellent. We were in room 407, which overlooked the gardens. This side of the hotel gets the morning sun, so we soaked up the rays after breakfast before going out for the day. The room was great. Clean and comfortable with a good bathroom and small kitchen area ( which we only used to make the occasional hot drink) All the staff are friendly and helpful. My husband spoke to one new starter who explained that for every 7 hours she worked she had to undertake a 1 hour language course (paid for by the hotel and she was paid for the hours time) We were on a B & B rate and the breakfast choices were plentiful and good. This hotel caters for holidaymakers from all over Europe and we watched the England v Germany match with some very nice Germans - sadly we were outplayed AGAIN!
There is quite a hill up to the hotel but we managed to traverse it up & down twice every day. My legs and lungs are a lot better for it :D As mentioned by others, there is a good free shuttle from the hotel and back and there are plenty of taxis. We're so please we picked this hotel as it's set away from traffic, in lovely grounds and very peaceful. There are some rooms which I wouldn't have wanted to be in - but that's the case in any hotel . A special shout out to Georges - the barman in the Hall bar. He was great!

Room tip: I'd recommend rooms on the main block, facing the gardens, from floor 3 up

This hotel was lovely, very clean and friendly staff, the breakfast was very nice and plenty of choice - I am vegetarian but I had plenty of choice, we only had breakfast so can't comment further. The room we had was beautiful and the kitchen had all equipment to prepare and cook any meal. We went 2 weeks ago and we had 2 days of quite cold weather and the pool on the 5th floor was to cold to use but the covered pool was good to swim in.

Room tip: Higher rooms have beautiful views

Having read a number of negative reviews the hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Our room was bright, airy, and fresh with a nice view, and kept spotlessly clean. The majority of staff were friendly and helpful, even the maintenance/gardening staff always greeted the guests with an 'ola '. The grounds were immaculate and a pleasurable place to while away a morning or two on a Sun lounger. Buffet provided a wide range of food for many tastes. Only possible downside is the hotel's location on a very steep hill - but the hotel does provide a free shuttle bus into Puerto De la cruz and back, but its a pleasant 10 minute walk into the resort although it takes a bit longer to walk back!

My wife and I booked a 5 day break 12th of March to 17th March, and what a pleasant surprise we got. My wife visited the Eden in the late 1980s with family, and we were a little worried the place may have aged badly...but no.
This is one of the best holiday venues you could choose. Our room, with breakfast, was very well presented. A modern bathroom, kitchenette and studio room was immaculately clean and well equipped.
Three pools and a few bars and cafe/restaraunts thrown in.
The apartments are set uphill from Puerto, and Heart Attack Hill is a challenge if you are on dodgy pins. But never despair, there is a free bus service that runs to and from Reception to the centre of Puerto. If you have a night in the resort, the taxi fare is only 3.50Euros. We took the 15 minute walked into the town centre once and it was ok, but we always came back by bus or taxi, depending on the time.
The staff, from reception through bars and restaraunts. chambermauds and reception are fantastic. They always have a smiley face when you need help or advice.
We took breakfast every morning and there is a choice for every taste and nationality. We hope to return again soon.
The hotel is situated in sprawling, beautifully landscaped gounds. Have a look arund if you go there.
ps The swimming pool on the top floor is for nudies only.

Room tip: Take a higher room for a better view.
