I can recommend this hotel for anyone. Me and my fiance really enjoyed that hotel . To a city centre is quite far but hotel provide a free buses which is advantage. Food was really good and there was a lot of various dishes and every day was something different for dinner. It was dissapointing that we had to pay for a drinks on dinner ( I had a half board) and also internet connection was very expensive.

I have just returned from this hotel after a 9 day holiday. I stayed at the Bonanza which is part of this 3 chain resort.

Firstly it is a slightly strange set up because we were booked into the Canarife and our room was in the Bonanza and then across the road was the other hotel. Good point is that you can swim in any of them and use the bars in any of them. Must say that the entertainment was much better at the one across the road - the name escapes me.

So what can I tell you...... This is the first time to Puerto Do La Cruz and it was lovely. Quite hilly so not good for elderly people or those with some mobility issues. It was about a 15 minute walk down into the resort itself and it is mostly steps but it isn't a bad walk. Taxi in and outof the main resort is about 3-4 euro's so not expensive.

At the Canarife and the Bonanza there are 2 pools and they were very clean but very cold! I couldn't get past my ankles!!! There is a sign that says sunbeds must not be saved but this isn't checked so the germans dominated this unfortunately. There was one german family, about 10 of them and they saved 10 loungers on both sides of the pool so that once the sun moved round, they could also move round. Typical germans.... so Brits get in there and do the same. As I said, we didn't see one person checking them and neither were any towels removed. There were plenty of loungers to go around but then it was out of season. I would imagine in season it would be terrible.

The bar during the say was well stocked with all alcohol and snacks. All snacks were fresh but the burgers did look a bit dodgy and the pizza was like rubber, but it was ok for a snack. If you wanted tea/coffee from here, unfortunately they only gave you plastic glasses.... not good for health and safety.

The bar at night also only gave you plastic glasses which was disappointing. You only got proper glasses if you paid for the drinks (half board).

So check in was very quick and we requested a seaview room so we were allocated a room on the 5th floor in the Bonanza. The room was immaculately clean and huge. It also had 2 big armchairs and a large coffee table which was nice to relax in the afternoon. Didn't use the TV because apparently they only have BBC news and who wants to watch the news on holiday! Music channels in the rooms although we didn't use this either. The bathroom was a nice size and toiletries were provided. The hairdryer worked very well and the shower was the best one I have ever used. Never run out of hot water. The room was cleaned every other day with clean sheets and fresh towels. The bed was harder than I would have liked but it was ok. We paid for the safe but we always have to so that wasn't a problem. The AC worked great and well and we had to turn it off quite a lot.

The restaurant was ok. There was a particular membr of staff who was fantastic although I don't know her name. She pushes a trolley around stocking up the plates etc but she was very friendly. Almost all of the staff were older men but they were all friendly. Clearing of tables was sometimes a bit slow and they never reset them but cutlery/serviettes were available to grab yourself.

The food.....well AI always tends to be a bit on the boring same old-same old but salads were great. Bread was fresh and there is always something that you can find that you enjoy. We were never too sure which theme it was but it was ok. Their regime is strange.... you have breakfast and evening dinner in your own hotel and for lunch you eat at the one across the road!!! However we only went to lunch once and the food was not as good as at the Canarife.

Bad points: no free wifi so don't pay for it because when you go down to the resort it's free in most places. Along the road from the hotel there are also some bars with free wifi.

No one removing the towels from the sunloungers which they state they will do and that does need monitoring closely so that us brits can get a lounger!!!

Too many plastic cups!!!

So that is it really. Would I go back...... yes I would and to the same hotel. Puerto De La Cruz was nice and the weather was lovely. Yeah I would defintely recommend this.

Is it a 4*??? Maybe a very good 3* but for the money, you really can't complain.

Having just returned from the Canarife Hotel ( one of the 3 hotels of the Blue Sea Puerto resort complex), I can honestly say you get exactly what you pay for! Cheap and cheerful. No hassles just walk in pick up your keys and that is it. We went on an all-inclusive basis. Drinks are on tap, serve yourself beers and cocktails.. no limits! Entertainment.. Don't hold your breath, it's just background noise not what you call real entertainment but everyone is just there to have free drinks so don't expect anything that will impress you. You can choose to eat and drink at any of the three hotels but again it is average at best not fine dining by any standards. The rooms are large with AC, Spanish Tv and the bathrooms are clean, which get cleaned on alternate days. Great views of the hills behind and the sea if you are on the back side of the hotel.

All in all a trouble free stay. I came here with friends to see Puerto de la Cruz, not stay in a hotel all week. If you plan to do the same, it is a good base to work from. If you are nice to the staff, they will also be nice to you. I took the time to speak to them with respect and have learnt that they have had more than enough visits from rowdy drunken Brits who do not respect their town or hotel, hence the not so hospitable introduction. I saw this first hand and can understand the reputation we have earned! Cheap and cheerful! 3 star at very best!

Room Tip: Stay at the Canarife. Ask for Sea views.

This is not 4* It is 3* at best. The service at reception is awful, when we arrived late at night we were left to find our room on our own! No offer of help and we had to return twice to ask for a better explanation of directions to the room. The room is grotty, sticky carpets and cockroaches in the bathroom! Not a pleasant site. The tv never worked and we were told conflicting stories as to why it is not working. I told reception that the remote is probably at fault as it cannot turn the tv on. On the last day a service technician came and said the remote does not work!
The food was mediocre, if you like familiarity then you are in luck as the menu is the same every single day. The one saving grace was breakfast was half way decent. The pool only gets sun for a short time of the day due to it being surrounded by buildings. We never used it and drove to the beach instead. The entertainment is fantastic, if you are 65 yrs old. Otherwise it will drive you crazy as it is elevator music played live.
Tenerife is a wonderful place and Puerto De La Cruz is really charming with very helpful and welcoming people. This hotel however is a joke. Best to avoid and stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere Puerto De La Cruz has a wide choice of places to stay.

Oh my god I cant believe that someone has just written what a great hotel, maybe my standards are different, I dont expect to have to stay in one hotel and have to walk across the road to eat in another, thats not restful, the pool was freezing we saw them filling up in the day with a hose from the tap, and the so called heated indoor pool isnt heated until Nov 15th, it states 500 metre from the beach... what beach? straight over a cliff do you mean??. and I have never in my life had all alcohol laid out on a table in a tent like a tacky wedding Yes the rooms were big, give them that and clean and the food wasnt bad, what you expect from an all inclusive, and the animation team did try hard to entertain the kids..but this hotel needs to learn a few things like how to speak to paying customers, reception is rude, and unhelpful, and the biggest prob I have is the fact that they dont tell you that there are 3 hotels joined together and you could be in any one of them, an none have any indoor daytime bar to get a cup of coffee, not everyone wants to get off there face by 11 the morning..and theres nothing for kids to do in the day , without the pool you are stuffed. They say kids daytime activities well I didnt see any, the kids club opens for 2 hours morn and afternoon, to do colouring .Sorry but this should only be a 3 star max. would not be going again...

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be large, but the Bonanza is closest to everything, Beds are very tatty and thin...

Just got back from a week all inclusive .... Went with my mother, my 6 year old and 10month old baby. We stayed in Bonanza Palace. Firstly, the room was lovely.... Clean and big with good air con and a nice travel cot for the baby. It was cleaned whenever we asked for it to be and had a nice balcony looking out to the pool. The food was fine- lots of choice, clean dining areas and very very friendly staff. The pool area was clean and safe and the animation staff were great with activities.... They made a special effort for the kids on Halloween and did a great party for them. There was usually something going on to get involved in and my son spent his week making friends and playing either pool, on the park, football or in the pool. Oh and lets not forget the nightly mini disco which he absolutely loved!
Days out at Loro Park and Siam park were fantastic and the weather was mainly good.
The only down sides were the reception staff were sometimes rather rude... When asking your change I was met with a rude response and they insisted on cutting off our all inclusive bands at 12midday check out even though we weren't leaving until. 9pm which was petty and mean but we just ate out at one of the many pizza restaurants instead!
Would I return? Definitely yes!
