“wonderful hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2008

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days in September (my fiance, mum, dad and myself and had a wonderful time. The hotel is very clean and impressive.Food was lovley and so much of it,the choice was huge.Champagne for breakfast which was a treat. The hotel grounds are very impressive as were the rooms.Really couldnt fault the hotel and would definatley recomend it.Its near the town and beach (not a nice beach but a beach).Approx 1 hour 15 mins from airport,we hired a car which worked well for us. We were in the back of the hotel at our request and had a lovely view of mount teide.Purto de la cruz is a lovely place with an old and new town, lots of nice places to sit and watch the world go by,the old town is especially nice. There isnt a lot to do locally or tenerife as a whole in my opinion, but lovely for a nice relaxing break in the sunshine.Loro parque is a must and really close to hotel.(costs approx £25 each but worth it an a full day out so get there early.Went up mount teide but cable car closed due to the wind which was a shame but still amazing views.

I had a lovely one week break at this hotel. The rooms were a good size, nicely furnished, clean and tidy. The food in the buffet restaurant was excellent quality with so much choice every day. I also tried the Seafood restauarant onsite and that was very good too. I went All Inclusive as I was on my own and this was the first time I had been to this resort so was unsure about going out on my own in the evening to eat. It was worthwhile. the food was great. I want to say hello to Martin and Gill, a lovely couple who befriended me. All in all a good week. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others

Thank you to Thomsons for finally getting us a flight home after XL went bust!!!

In the month of July, I traveled to my girlfriend Tenerife.para the hotel Bahia Principe San Felipe.tenho 22 years and she 23 years, and we love tenerife.the hotel, can say that employees are very friendly, the food is very good and the area surrounding the hotel is amazing. Tenerife is a very beautiful island, with much vegetation and a beautiful black-sand beach in Puerto de la cruz ... Playa Jardin.
Is a journey that we advise.

My husband and I returned from the San San Felipe Hotel during the early hours of 31st May 2008, having stayed there for one week's all inclusive. The guests in the hotel were mainly Spanish with a handful of Germans and British people. We found the hotel to be extremely good value. There was a huge choice of food in the main restaurant - there were certainly no occasions when we could not find something good to eat. We also ate in two of the other restaurants - the Spanish and the Italian and found these to be really very good. The pool area was very pretty and there was no problem finding sunbeds each day. The hotel staff were all extremely polite and helpful. It was my birthday while we were there and they took it upon themselves to organise a cake and some champagne - really thoughtful of them. They must have got the information from my passport - there was no other way of them finding out. Our room was on the 8th floor and overlooked the swimming pool. It was large, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable with loads of hanging space and a large balcony. We had to check out of our room at 12.00 noon and, for an extra 30 euros, were provided with another room to use until our departure from the hotel that evening. I would say that the evening entertainment could be a little livelier and the all-inclusive drinks option only lasts until 11.00 pm, but this certainly didn't ruin our holiday. We loved both the hotel and Puerto de La Cruz and will definitely go back.

We are a couple in our mid forties and this was our first time in Tenerife. We selected this hotel based on the reviews from Trip Advisor and we were not disapointed .

We were there for 14 days AI and booked through My Travel (Thomas Cook) at a total cost of about £710 each.

We broadly endorse the previous positive comments made by other reviewers although it is not perfect and there are very minor issues but overall we rate this good value for money.

This is the sixth AI holiday we have had in the last few years but this was by far the best.

Bottom line - we are happy to reccomend it unreservedly and will return.

I will start off that i am not one to moan about holidays and i have never written a reveiw before but our holiday was so dull! I went with my partner i am 24 we was all inclusive for 1 week, i am well travelled and unless you are over 50 and like a bit of a fox trot you will not like this hotel.
There is only one bar in the hotel where if you manage to get a bit tipsy it would be a miracle! the table service is slow and it is frowned apon to go up to the bar. The food is too repetative and there is no options available for children unless they enjoy warmed up chips for 3 courses a day, the weather is pretty poor as the resort is on the north side of the island. The bars outside the hotel are poor and again no nightlife anywhere in the resort. We spoke to a few locals and the area is well know for the oldies who travel back year after year and found it quite amusing that we had made a huge mistake and ended up there. I did read the reveiws before i went and they was excellent but if is was at the age of the rest of our hotel i would have found it brilliant too.
The entertainment was extremely poor in fact everything about this hotel was poor apart from the Italian resturant that is only available twice a week when the other 2 resturants change over and that was fantastic! I have never been on a holiday that i have cryed and wanted to come home it was a complete rip off and if you are near my age please try and get a transfere you will thank me for it i swear.

This is my first Tripadvisor review which I only thought fair to provide after the reveiws I read prior to my stay at San Felipe proved to be most useful and also gave a pretty accurate insight into the hotel.

We had stayed in Puerto de la Cruz previously that time being Xmas / New Year so we knew what to expect in terms of weather. For the record this was some sunshine, some cloud but generally T-shirt warm. Beware the sun, even though the temperatures might not seem that high the sun is fierce and I managed to burn on the first day, some young children around the hotel appeared to be very sore.

We stayed at the San Felipe on an All Inclusive basis via Airtours which proved to be substantially cheaper than the package offered by First Choice.

We arrived at gone 9:00pm following a 4.5h flight from M'chster and a 1.75h journey from Reina Sofia on a rickety mini-bus and were starving. My first question on checking in at reception was whether we would be able to have the evening meal. The answer was 'All Inclusive - certainly sir' the San Felipe had just received 4 of the available 5 stars.

That first meal was excellent (as were the rest) buffet style, grilled meat / fish cooked in front of you, then numerous dishes all washed down with a carafe of the local vihno tinto. The menu was pretty varied with not much repetition over our on week stay, which is'nt bad considering that was lunch and dinner

The room - we were on the 7th floor facing the sea - was fine, pretty standard fayre nowadays (Holiday Inn) but clean, nicely decorated/furnished seperate bathoom (bath+shower) and toilet.

With the room facing the sea, this meant that we only received the sun in the mornings but the view was excellent. Probably at this time of year a little afternoon/evening sun in the room would have been nice.

The pool area was really lovely - a little oasis in the centre of town. Our daughter (7) spent hours in he pool, although it was a bit cold for me or the missus to brave!

The archery and shooting that were laid on proved to be good fun as was the kids club.

Evening entertainment was a bit bland, which suited us - a couple of drinks then up to the room.

All in all an excellent hotel and I would have no hesitation on recommending to friends etc
