“Puerto De La Cruz Plaza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 9, 2013

Nice place to spend a day. We travelled on the local bus from Los Gigantes, which takes 2 hours up the mountain on very winding roads. That was a bit of a drag, but I believe it is easier if you are travelling from the Las Americas side, by car preferably. But we weren't in any hurry.
The plaza is a very nice area with shops & restaurants available. You can then walk down to the sea front where there is a small beach. If you walk a little further there are some beach clubs with large swimming pools, where you can hire sunbeds. They are not private clubs, but open to the public. It costs €4 each entrance fee & a further €4 for a sunbed for the day. Umbrellas can also be hired. There are some bars & shops opposite the clubs, & some have entertainment.
We spent an hour just listening to a native south American Indian playing Pan pipes. He was brilliant, & it was so relaxing to hear. You can walk on top of the sea walls & watch the waves crashing in & there are views of the large cliffs there.

All in all a good day out. With a Bono Pass it was approx. €3.80 each way. The 1st bus leaves at 8.20am, & the last one back is approx. 7pm, so you can spend quite a bit of time there if you want. The weather was excellent, but it can be changeable in the North, so you may need a jacket.

“Chill out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

This is the place to seriously people watch. There are lots of bars and restaurants both around the edge and in the centre where you can while away some time. Really liked the Columbus - look inside which is a revalation with a very classy shopping centre

“All life is there!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2013

A wonderful, busy , noisy, place with loads of bars and restaurants, 2 of whom have loud live music and seem to take it it terms to outdo one another. A place to go when you want to feel in the hub of Puerto. Wonderful trees all around the square. a place to stroll during the day and have fun in at night.
