The large big square near to the harbour area, raised area, split into two areas, one side an area for children and fountains, the other a large cafe restaurant, which has live music at night, from solo singers to local groups of canarian folk singers, its surrounded by large palm trees and bars, shops, restaurants, which is rich and varied in the selection on offer. Smashing meeting place, to start the day, night of . !!

Lots of bars and restaurants - Plenty of choice at reasonable prices. Some with entertainment although not all entertainment was to our liking - each to their own!

I had a cup of coffee at Cafe Central at Plaza Charco. It was lovely to get a small biscuit with it, the only cafeteria I managed to find with such complimentary.
The big cafe has plenty of repertoire in entertainment. One evening the singer ( latino music ) was so irresistible you couldn´t walk past but to sit down, enjoy refreshment and listen him singing and moving on the stage. Very enjoyable.

Knew this place when it was the Plaza Gen. Franco! Nothing has changed much over the years except perhaps improvements to the childrens play area, new paving and the removal of the old bandstand. Still very much the hub of the old town and a great place for people watching and finding a bit of shade. Have visited many, many times over the years and don't recognize any of the negative reviews.
