We have visited the cafe de paris on a number of occasions over the past 15 years, as with their other businesses, el rancho and the monestary, whilst their food has always been ok, if overpriced, the service has always been poor (the norm for tenerife).
On this occasion we stopped off there just for a drink (having eaten elsewhere) about 8pm,
sat down, served quite quickly, finished drinks, then came the hard part, i started off by shouting excuse me when a waiter came within earshot, no joy, the german couple on the next table soon joined in (they wanted another drink), no joy, after about 10 minutes i was just going to walk away,
then suddenly a waiter came towards us, me calling and the german guy with his hand in the air must have done the trick, NO
a new couple had sat down behind us
he took their order, turned round and i just shouted "the bill" to him in spanish,
AT LAST the bill came (roughly 4.40 for 2 bottles of dorada), gave him a 5 euro note and waited for my change, and waited and waited, eventually i got up and asked "where is my change" at which he pointed to the head waiter and said "he said it was ok" then walked off, came back threw a plate down with my change on it and walked off.
When we left(eventually) the german couple were still trying to get served!
