Our 2 favorite walks in this amazing area:
- Camino de los Riscos from Buenavista del Norte between the banana plantages to de small mountain village of Teno Alto and back passing through El Palmar. Magnificent mountain trail!!!
- From the Masca Road to Finca de Guerges, following the mountains "guarding" Masca. While all tourists are crowded together in the Masca, you are on the "roof" of them with the most amazing panoramic views!

Although the road to Teno is closed for cars, scenery was still amazing and stunning.

Either leaving a car or heading to Teno Alt, views along the roads are spectacular.

I wish I had boots for bit of exploration.

Teno is the north west corner of Tenerife. It is a land of flat valleys and rugged hills with some large volcanic sills visible. In one of the valleys one of the hills had signs of three large landslips in it.There are not many roads and one of the main roads TF445 to the lighthouse was closed when we visited. The closure was just west of Buenavista because of danger of rock falls. So we could not get to the lighthouse and had to take the spectacular and scary road down to Masca and up the other side.We got very good views of Masca from the Cafe Hilda on a hilltop overlooking the valley. A great day out, but not for the faint-hearted!
