“amazing landscape”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

Going up to the Teide definitely should not be missed. The views are excellent and it is a landscape that is not found in Europe. A few things to keep in mind:
It is cold up there. It was 4C when we were there, so definitely bring a sweater, jacket and scarf.
It takes a while to get there. From Garachico, it took 1.5 hours to get there, most of the time on those lovely winding Canary roads.
It costs 25€ per adult for the cable car, so it is not cheap but worth it.
Also if you want to hike to the summit, you need a permit. This can be obtained online from the national park service.

“Majestic Teide.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

3718 meters high: the highest peak in Spain is in Tenerife. Its presence dominates the island as you can see it almost from any point.

When I was there, we stayed in the refuge that can be only accessed by foot, and the next morning, before the sunrise, we walked up the peak. It was dark and cold, but when the Sun appeared, it turned everything into magic.

After that, we walked down to the car and went to the beach to enjoy the warm weather. What a beautiful contrast!!!

El Teide is a must if y ou visit Tenerife.

“Amazing Mount Teide”

This national park is incredibly beautiful, with trails and a lovely hotel. The sunset and the light on the volcano, the red rocks and the sands are striking.

“wrap up you muppet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

Well there I was in Santa Cruz looking up to teide sitting in 43 degrees thinking I'm going up there so next day of I go . I took me mum /dad and the wife on our 1 hr 30 min ride up the mountain stopping at stop of points on route to take photo's of the town down below. Has we gained height we went through the areas that was hit buy the fire,s. When we got to the cable cars it wasn't to bad just a slight chill in the air . We did leave midday which meant we missed the crowds we paid our 25 euros to go the rest of the journey in the cable car which took us 500 ft short of the summit. We got out the cable car and went out side the first words was Jesus that's cold we had 2 minutes up there took some quick photos and went straight back down. The best advice is wrap up and enjoy the views not like me a 2 minute wonder. You can go to the summit you can get a permit on line or in tenerife but you fined that info out when you stand at the cable car station. And yes I did get to the summit some 22yrs ago and it wasn't that cold then .after all said and done this trips a must the crater is 12 miles of unbelievable scenery enjoy amigos Choi.
