“Wonderful food”

We had a snack lunch here and came out bursting! Meze for two between three with extra bread.

“Choice more than just Lebanese”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2010

Went twice in one week, so good first time! Grills, particularly fillet steak,
and desserts were superb. What the service lacked in language was more than made up for by personality and willingness to please. Price on the high side of average but worth it. Do take the address with you, it is not easy to find.by name only. Do book for Saturday evening, many turned away whilst we were there.

“If you like Meze and Lamb - all hail to the Chef - but its not fine dining”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2010

I love this kind of food, the myriad of flavours of the mediterranean starters, the typical Hummus, the delicious Mutabbel (aubergine dip), minty tabbouleh salad wrapped in lettuce leaves, stuffed vine leaves, Kebbe (meaty pastries) with hot pitta bread. Then to follow a whole leg of lamb between two, cooked long and slow and falling appart. Basically you cannot go wrong - except Chef Nizar did. We were the first table seated at 9:15, the Chef came to take our food order as our reservation had been made by an eminent local chef. With a central chandalier as the only lighting the ambience is like late night greasy spoon. The waitresses are neither knowlegable nor enthusiastic about what they serve. And in the end the lamb became monotonous, they just had not done enough with it. And for my wife who prefers the fashion for pink lamb - they had done too much with it. The highlights were the Muttabel on pitta and the Malvasia Seco from the oldest vinyard in the Canaries "El Grifo". The Beronia Reserva Rioja 2003 was also good with the lamb. Overall an enjoyable evening but it could have been so much more.

“Tasty and something out of the ordinary”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2010

Fairly small restaurant, nicely furnished. Excellent lamb (especially the cutlets). All dishes cooked to order, so piping hot, using top quality ingredients. Local wine very good. Reasonably priced. Made a change to try a different type of cuisine.

“Better book in advance, places are limited... Specially on the weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2009

Chef Nizar is one of my favorite restaurant: I absolutely loved their Lebanese starters. They are also known to have the best lamb in Lanzarote (if you book in advance you can order dishes which are not on the menu, ask the waiter to help you with your choice)
