Comfortable hotel. No fridge or tea making facilities however. Mini bar of course! Good selection of food from the buffet morning and evening, even had champagne for breakfast if you wish. High floors have great sea views. Aricife has no nightlife so good for a quiet relaxing holiday. Small nightclub on 17th floor but all lifts do not go to it so check first if you don't want to walk the last two floors! Local transport cheap and handy to more lively resorts I.e Puerto del Carmen 1E 30 e.w. Clean beach adjacent to hotel. No outdoor pool.

Room spot on pool and area very nice breakfast one of the best we have had in a five star hotel - make your own fresh orange juice, eggs cooked to order and a wide variety of other foods - fruit, cheeses, meats and cakes. the bar on the top floor is a lovely place to chill at the end of the day with great views - also ate in the Altamar restaurant - divine scallops and lentils - bog standard bread let it down - but we had nice bread
at breakfast so that didn't make sense!
Really wanted to give the hotel 4 and half as the spa experience was not really worth 15 euros - too small , too dark and no real atmosphere - should be free and included in the price.
Would return and plan to use it as a short break stay - the beach next to hotel is often empty and Arrecife is a lovely town

An absolutely amazing hotel with very friendly staff and good facilities. Not much to do in that particular area, but Puerto Del Carmen is very close. Hotspot for tourists. Nice selection of food at the buffet and a very comforting spa service. Recommended to all.

Stayed here for a short 4 night break in April, very business like feel to the hotel. Staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean and modern. Breakfast buffet has a good range but the dinner buffet offered mostly fish and meat, only one option for a vegetarian the night we went!! Surrounding area offers little for tourists but there is a range of local shops and restaurants although avoid if your not a fan of fish as most offer majority fish dishes around the harbour! Some sights to see but would not recommend for families and those looking for a sunny break as not much to do and a small beach.
Disappointingly there was a problem with the hot water when we stayed which meant we were either left with no hot water or water that was dark brown/yellow for the entire stay!! When we phoned reception we were told that a technician would be sent, none was sent. We then overheard in the lift that the entire hotel had the same problem, but we were never informed of this. We then rang up the next day to chase up the problem and we were told to run the water for 1-2 minutes so it would run clear, we left it running for over an hour and it continued to stay discoloured as it did for our entire holiday. No apology or explanation was offered, just the hotel avoiding the issue. Unacceptable from a '5 star establishment'.
Will not be coming back.

Room Tip: Lovely sea views if a sea view room is booked.

My boyfriend and I stayed here half board in early April and had a very good stay. The location of the hotel is perfect and Arrecife is fantastic if you like a quiet holiday away from the main tourist resorts as we do.We were allocated a room on the 10th floor. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious- although it was poorly lit and our key wouldn't work a few times which was a little bit inconvenient. Overall though we were happy with our room as the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious with twin sinks and I liked the complimentary toiletries and slippers provided. Breakfasts were good with lots of choice. I thought the buffet dinners were a little disappointing but it was ok as we are not really foodies. I found that the dinner plates were sometimes dirty- which I think the hotel should improve for 5 stars. The table service in the buffet restaurant was poor I'm sorry to say, although the rest of the service in the hotel was good- especially in the pool bar and the spa where the lovely receptionist was very helpful and hospitable. The spa in the hotel is very good and well worth a visit- great value for 15 euros and we had the place all to ourselves! The indoor pool is also fantastic and the food in the pool bar is very good for a tasty lunch. We really liked this hotel and we would certainly return. I recommend it, especially to young couples who want a quiet romantic break.

The hotel has a great location and has all the promise of a great hotel. From the outside it looks the part.
I have stayed in many 5 stars and as soon as you step into the lobby dated springs to mind.
Over to the reception desk, no morning just "have you a booking". From your first meeting to your last, you get the feeling the staff do not want to be there and you are an inconvenience to them.

We had a suite on the 9th floor, every other suite I have ever stayed in had bottles of fresh water every day, plus mini bar etc. This is a special suite where you can have 2 water in the cheap plastic bottles if you pay an extra 9€ a day WTF!!!.
A five star without at least water. Same for the mini bar, if you want that facility you have to pay 18€ just to have it in your room (drinks extra).
The facilities in the hotel have such promise, two restaurants one with self service mass produced food for half and full board customers who made the mistake of thinking five star is five star, no this one is to maximise there return on what you paid, if you want the real five star meals you have to pay extra on top of your full board money to eat in the 17th floor restaurant.
Breakfast was the same self service. Lunch was only available in the poolside bar with a choice of about 12 dishes (burgers, chips etc).
Despite this the food was tasty but not 5 star, ok if you are only expecting 3 star.

The thing that lets this hotel down is the service.
I honestly feel that the staff hate working there, and are quite happy to portray there unhappiness. A couple of examples, out of the four lifts only to seam to work full time, and the cleaners use these same lifts for moving their carts round, one day we got in and it stopped at every floor and took ages to get to the breakfast floor. It stopped at the third floor where a cleaner was waiting with a trolley, the lift was full of guests. The cleaner then ranted in Spanish how we shouldn't expect our rooms done on time as she couldn't get in the lifts and she had been waiting a long time. She wanted us to get out so she could get in and told us so.
In the lunch bar, I asked if it was possible to have paella for one, the young lady did not speak very god English so was trying to explaine, when from behind her a very Sturn abrupt man very loudly said "paella is for two persons only not one, read the menu".
The only staff member who seamed to care was a Dutch woman in the bar, shame they all cannot learn from her.

To sum up.
Great location, dated hotel, let down by poor staff. And definately NOT 5 STAR.
Would I go back NO WAY.
