We spent a week here in September.
Transfers took 10 minutes if that, it's really close to the airport but far enough not to be disturbed by planes flying over every 5 minutes.
When we arrived we were very impressed with the hotel, very modern and relaxing. Every member of staff that we came across was helpful and spoke a good level of English.
Our room was very spacious, clean and again modern. The bathroom was all marble with two sinks and a separate toilet.
Housekeeping cleaned our room everyday including changing towels and bed sheets.
The breakfast buffet was much better than we expected, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, tea, full English breakfast items, freshly cooked omelettes, lots of different fruits, yogurts, cereals and a continental mix of crossaints and bread rolls.
We couldn't complain about the food at all.
We tried the buffet dinner once it was €18 each, again there was a large selection, freshly cooked lamb, lots of fish.
The view from the pool/bar is beautiful very peaceful and relaxing. Sun bathing space is limited so if you want a spot you need to get down for about 12; the sun doesn't make it round to the terrace by the pool till about half 1 everyday which we found quite disappointing. There is also only an indoor pool which was a bit of a let down.
The beach which is just literally next to the hotel is lovely, the water is crystal clear, but there are no sun beds.
Arrecife is a very quiet non tourist area, there are very few bars to go to. The hotel doesn't put any entertainment on so you're left to wonder around hoping to find a bar that has something going on. We struggled to find good restaurants around our hotel so we ended up at a cheap place across the road which served decent food but was a bit boring after the 3rd time.
We took a day trip to Puerto del Carmen on our last which was fantastic, we caught the bus which cost €3.40 for us both it took 15 minutes, it was worth it as we found a lovely beach which had sun beds and water sports available. The restaurants there were great too, there was so much choice and all of them pretty much face the sea. It felt a bit more like we were on holiday here and we wish we had gone sooner to be honest.
All in all this hotel was lovely but in the wrong location for us. We weren't looking for a lively holiday we wanted to relax but we would have liked a bit more life and a bit more choice of bars and restaurants.
It's not a five star but 5 stars are never actually 5 stars in Europe, I would say a 4 star comparing to hotels in London.
I've read through some other comments and can't understand how people could have had such an awful experience just a week before we went.
I would recommend if you are looking for a very quiet, relaxing holiday.
