the hotel is close to airport, breakfast good, open-air pool on the roof is dirty, in the middle of the city on seaside, but upper levels are quiet, bus stop in front of the hotel, friendly staff. i suggest it for couples or for family. you are not going to be bored here.

We booked this hotel because it was near the airport, cheap and had received good reviews on the websites we used. It certainly didn't disappoint.

Hotel Lancelot is very easy to reach. We caught the number 22 bus from the airport into the city of Arrecife which is around 1 Euro 40 cents each. It stops just ten minutes walk away from the hotel. The same bus stop has buses for Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise every 20-30 minutes.

We were immediately struck by the beautiful view of the beach lined with palm trees straight in front of the hotel.

Most of the staff were very friendly and spoke good English. We were offered the choice of two rooms, both of which were lovely. The rooms are really spacious and what would be expected of a four star hotel. There is a little private hallway into the room with the bathroom along it. The bathroom had a lovely big corner bath and was spotless.

There was air conditioning though no English speaking channels on the TV. This didn't really bother us as we spent most of our time out exploring. One minor quibble is that the beds were quite hard but despite this we slept well.

We got a lovely breakfast each morning including some type of eggs e.g. quiche, fried, boiled, scrambled, bacon, fried tomatoes etc. There was a good selection of cold meat, bread and cheese. Yoghurt, cereal and various pastries were also on offer. The room where we had our breakfast had a beautiful view overlooking Playa del Reducto beach.

This hotel is excellent value for money, and ideal if you don't want to stay in a place crowded with British tourists and fast food restaurants!

Arrecife gives a picture of what true Spanish life is like. There are some good shops and great restaurants. We went to Lilium (on street behind Lanelot hotel) on our first night and had really nice tapas. On our last night we went over to the Gran hotel and had an amazing meal on the 17th floor overlooking the beach and all the little boats on the port.

I will definitely return to Lanzarote, and highly recommend Hotel Lancelot.

Really good place to stay if you are looking for clean rooms, good ( if slightly boring) meals and first rate staff. The staff will do anything within their power to help you out, whether it's directions, advice on restaurants or any other number of queries. We will return again. I highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel is not really suited to small kids as there is no kids club or activities. Then again maybe that is a plus for many of us seeking R&R from our families!! Much more suited to couples.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view.

My friend and I booked a last minute break for one week at the Lancelot. I was a bit skeptical when a lady at the airport bus transfer station made a comment about it being odd that we chose Arrecife, but there was absolutely no need to worry. The town itself is very quite, with very few tourists (we barely heard any other English-speaking people when we were there). The hotel itself is literally across the road from the beach - a gorgeous stretch of white sand and clear water. There are no sun loungers or umbrellas but there are a few palm trees for shade and it is nice and peaceful, with just a few locals around.
The hotel staff are friendly - they don't speak much English but are happy to help in any way they can. There is a small pool on the roof - it was virtually empty the whole time we were there - like having our own private pool! And there is also a basic gym on the roof which was empty the entire time too.
The rooms are nice - pretty basic but spotless. Definitely get a sea-view room if you can - the main road can be quite noisy when the door is open but the view is totally worth it, and its quiet with the door shut (there is also air-con but we found the room to be cool enough without it!)
We went for bed and breakfast - the buffet was pretty basic. A selection of breads, slices of meat and cheese and a different type of egg every day. Also mini donuts, fruit, juices and coffee. There is also a piano bar in the basement, but we were disappointed to find it wasn't open during our trip.
I would definitely recommend the Lancelot for people looking for somewhere relaxing and quiet to chill out - there were quite a few couples. It's not the best location if you are looking to party - there are a handful of bars along the stretch of beach around the hotel but they were pretty quiet. But if you do want to go somewhere more lively, its only a 20 euro taxi drive to Puerto del Carmen or 10 euros to Teguise.

Room Tip: A sea view room is recommended - if possible get one on the corner (we were in 401) as they're a...

We came back from a lovely week in Arrecife just over a week ago.

The Lancelot hotel was a perfect base to spend a holiday on the island. There were three of us including our four year old daughter.

As others have said the hotel is a simple functional hotel and is targeted at the general traveler, including businesses and conferences, rather than the holiday maker.

As long as you are not expecting kids clubs/cabaret/etc (we weren't) then the hotel does everything you need. The rooms are perfectly clean and cleaned daily - we had a sea view with a small balcony.

What sets the hotel apart is the quality of the staff - from check in onwards all the staff were very pleasant and welcoming with a good command of English (not the case in all of Arrecife which is primarily a working Spanish/Canarian town).

Everyone on reception was great, and the waiter at breakfast was lovely making balloon animals for our daughter and making a real fuss of her.

We had breakfast every day which was fine, if continental. We didn't eat anything off the hot buffet except the some churros, although the scrambled eggs and other bits looked okay. In general we stuck to the toast/fruit/pastries/yoghurt.

Watch outs for British travelers - there is no British TV except CNN, which on nights in with daughter in bed was a bit of a shame. Luckily Euro2012 was on which works fine in Spanish, so I was okay! There is free Wifi in the room though, so bring a laptop or Ipad if you really want some entertainment.

Finally this hotel really wins on location - we wanted beach and it is literally opposite the hotel. It's a locals beach, but nab a palm tree and you have free shade all day. On top of that there are lots of good restaurants in Arrecife town (a stroll away - you are in the centre), and hire a car to discover the rest of the island.

Last thing as parents our biggest challenge was feeding our daughter - Arrecife is "proper" Spanish, so no one eats before 8pm so most restaurants are shut from mid afternoon until then which we coped with but not ideal. Arrecife is not for tourists so be prepared for that.

All in all the Lancelot is highly recommended and Arrecife does work as a base for the island with everything you need, and hardly any English or German people. Perfect!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

We have stayed in Lancelot Hotel in May for 8 nights. I was pleasantly suprised because I didn't expect such a high standard in 3* hotel. Very good location, volcano trips possibility, English speaking and helpful reception staff, nice atmosphere, huge choice of the tasty breakfast buffet staff, excellent cleaning service. I recommend !!
