“Good Hotel , Poor Breakfast”
Reviewed November 17, 2011

Stayed in October and November , very good hotel ably assisted by receptionist Alexis who is a first class chap , very friendly in every manner. Hotel has nice views across beach and close to Old Town with good tapas bars , close to lagoon and perfectly situated for a few days stop. One problem is the breakfast , preformed ham , plastic cheese , warm coffee , really poor and I didnt bother on two occassions preferring to lie in for a while in the very comfortable beds. Great Hotel , poor breakfast.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are worthwhile

We stayed here on 30th October 2011 for one night in 2 twin-rooms overlooking the sea.

This hotel makes the ideal stop if arriving from the airport or returning home at a difficult time if you have no transfers i.e., you’re not on a package tour. It’s easy to reach by bus from the airport, which is about 7 km away (cost 1.30 Euros) or by taxi (16 Euros).

This hotel is a low budget, run-of-the-mill travel tavern type of hotel where you’d expect to meet the likes of Alan Partridge. The rooms are clean to the point of just one or two long, black hairs sticking to the bathroom’s walls and floor. Whatever gender you are, you’ll maybe ponder them belonging to a well-groomed member of the opposite gender, perhaps as you slowly seep in a bubbling bath of the complimentary lavender deep-cleanse, while gently oooohing away the exertions of the day’s activities.

The staff is friendly enough, but I’m afraid the buffet breakfast was a disappointment. Unlike the fictional travel tavern where Alan Partridge ate sumptuous fried breakfasts, the fried food here is risky. It’s tepid temperature gave the fried eggs the appearance of an underage girl at a wet T-shirt contest and the hash browns were so full of gristle that they were only edible for the foolhardy. That aside, everything else was of standard quality.

I’d stay here again for a night or two while en-route to better things or while attending a conference because of the convenience and value (49 Euros per night).

We had a sea view room at the front of the hotel. Good size clean room with a small balcony looking out across the beach. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is buffet style and plenty of choice. The roof top pool is ok but remember Lanzarote is windy. Great location for strolling around and with a lovely beach across the road. Lots of interesting tapas bars an eating places near by. Arrecife is an under rated place to stay. Not somewhere for a long holiday but a couple of nights is great. The only down side to the hotel was the small number of TV channels and the noise from car radios. Spanish males of a certain age seem to like driving along with the window down playing loud awful music to show off their masculinity.

hotel lancelot is in a fantastic location, right on the beach and in the town. the staff were helpful, the breakfast was good and the rooftop pool was a real bonus. The room was a good size with a balcony and clean. I would recommend this hotel, as great value and location and would stay there again.

There is no getting around that the Lancelot is effectively a Travel Lodge/Premier Inn type hotel. Clean, decent rooms. But no frills.

It's location is its greatest (and worst) feature. 5 meters from a reasonable sandy beach which is always quiet. 200 meters from the central bus station which takes you anywhere on the island. However Arrecife is a Spanish resort, there are no English bars or restaurants which if you want them means a nightly bus trip to another resort.

The bad bits. Over the two weeks I was there the Air Conditioning for the entire building was non functional. The pool is not heated and when I was there the filtration wasn't working so it was a bit grotty. The Gym is very dated and the equipment in need of a service (but much better than nothing). There are no English spoken TV channels on the cable

The Lancelot Hotel was a perfect weekend getaway for my friends and I. We found a cheap flight to Lanzarote on Ryan Air and we were very glad that we chose to stay in Arrecife instead of Puerto del Carmen since it felt so much more authentic and was far cheaper. Getting rooms for 50 Euros a night was a steal since they were well-furnished with balconies and included a large, free breakfast.

In addition, the staff was great in helping us book a last minute tour to the volcanos. The receptionist got us on the tour less than a half hour before it left. Their hard work, great location, and great value should lead to more visitors in the future.

Room Tip: Sea View Rooms are worth the extra Euros

Stayed 5 nights in Feb 2011 on 2nd floor. Ist 2 nights were in side facing room so no view and overlooked by buildinds opposite. Next 3 nights overlooking the sea so good view and not overlooked. Spacious rooms and bathroom. Layout of bathroom in second room made getting into bath quite difficult. Fridge and hairdryer provided. Beds were big and comfortable. There was swimming pool from roof but too cool for us to use. There was traffic noise from road between hotel and beach.
Bus stop for airport, Costa Teguise and Puerto Carmen was 5-10 mins walk along the road but buses to Teguise and Haria etc left from bus station which is about 20-30 mins wak from hotel.
