We just returned from our 2 week vacation in La Palma.
Went to this restaurant because of the good reviews here at Trip Advisor.
We were not surprised.
The prices are a little bit more expensive, but you get a good quality for your money.
Service is great and the inside of the restaurant looks amazing.
They just should remove the green umbrellas, so you have a full view on all the plants.
Our favourite was the Principe Alberto a specialty dessert of La Palma.

We took the fish & seafood grill, which was heaps for 31€ for 2 people. Friendly service and a very pleasant atmosphere in the inner garden between the plants

We came across this restaurant by pure chance, we went in and found we were the only ones there, we choose a table, a wine and had the best meal of our stay in la Palma! It's situated in a courtyard full of hanging, draped ferns and foliage, it was beautifully done, a large display fridge with fresh fish in it,so you could choose which you wanted to eat. It leads from the sea front to the main shopping street of Santa Cruz ,much better than La Placeta in both food and price.
The place started to fill up, guess we where just a little early, if you to to La Palma, seek it out and give it a try, you'll not be disappointed. It's next to the lab.

Although the lonely planet guide says that the restaurant is upscale we had an excellently prepared meal which cost only 12 .50 euros this included 3 courses and a glass of good wine - well recommended and the ambience was excellent

Although the Lonely Planet guide to the Canary Islands (2007) described La Lonja as "perhaps the city's most upscale restaurant," lunch at a table outside by Avenida Marítima is a no-fuss affair, as inexpensive as anywhere that I dined at on La Palma. The house salad, 'Ensalada La Lonja,' was huge and a bargain at €5.50. For a starter I had 'sopa de marisco,' which cost €4.00. Beer was inexpensive on La Palma, and a pint for €3.10 at La Lonja was slightly more than I paid anywhere else, but was still not bad.

Indoors, the restaurant is very smart, as Lonely Planet suggests and other reviews have shown.
