“Best beach I can remember!”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

This beach is superbly kept up by the city council. It has clean sand and a beautiful promenade with excellent facilities (restaurants of all types, bars, a few shops and hotels, and some attractive buildings (as well as a few tacky ones!). It is very spacious and never seems over crowded. Low tide is best for swimming since it gets a bit rough at high tide when the Atlantic rollers come in over the reef, but at low tide it's quiet. Locals and tourists relax freely on the sand, and there are no hustlers or hawkers - or dogs - to bother you. Usually there is a calming breeze to temper the heat of the midday sun. In the evenings the promenade is busy with the evening walkers strolling up and down. A wonderful (and safe) place to be!

Nice long, broad, clean safe beach with easy axess to shops and restaurants of different kinds.
No road next to beach and instead a promenade.
No dogs, stereos, bettlers or sellers on the beach.
A perfect place for pleasure and enjoyment.

“Best beach in Europe”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Miles of sandy beach and long promenades with lovely cafes & restaurants dotting along the way.
A terrific area in the middle of a working city with everything you could possibly need. We lived there for four months over the winter months at the start of this year and could have stayed permanently and if we ever had the opportunity to move there we would have no hesitation.

“fantastic beach, no matter what the weather”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

the worlds best inner-city beach, and well worth the accolaide. miles and miles of golden sand, a fantastic promenade, bars shops, restaurants, surf schools, massage and beauty shops, apartments and hotels line the front line of the beach, seeing to everyones needs. you cant not go and check it out. wonderfully clean, full body and foot showers available. in certain places, it has a natural wave breaker with the rocks out at sea. in other places, strong open waves, ideal for surfers.
