To get an overview of the square go up the cathedral, see it from the roof top and see it in all its grandeur. Lined with old Spanish style houses and palm trees down the side. There are plenty of benches to sit on and relax in this peaceful square.

A beautiful palm lined square featuring the Santa Ana Catedral at one end and the Ayuntamiento building at the other.

A beautiful plaza, when I visited the children from a local school were using the plaza for a game of football. At the east end is the main facade of St Ana's Cathedral where you can pay to go up in a lift to the base of one of the towers, which you can then climb on foot for an even wider view, make sure you have your camera.. In front of the cathedral are the eight statues of hunting dogs. At the west end is the Town Hall which houses the Information office (closes at 3pm). The plaza has a row of palm trees on the north and south sides, which are lined by impressive mansions.

Most people come to this square to see the cathedral and it’s well worth a visit. A very calming place with a lovely atmosphere. Opposite the cathedral is the town hall, which does tours on sundays, we missed that but would have liked to have seen it. This is a very nice area to meander around with the Columbus museum, the modern art museum and the history museum all a stones throw away. Take your time round here and enjoy.

This beautiful plaza with its magnificent buildings depicts some of the nicest houses of the 17th and 18th century in Las Palmas with Spanish style architecture. The facades are intriguing and colorful, and on a sunny day makes one cheerful by just being there. Lovely place.
