“An must do attraction.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

If you intend to visit Gran Canaria, you must plan in a visit to the Catedral de Santa Ana. It cost 1.50 euros to take a trip to the top of the tower where you can capture the wonderful views of Las Palmas and Gran Canaria. On certain days, you are allowed inside the cathedral itself and again, well worth a viewing.

Afterwards, why not take a stroll into the main centre. Very cosmopolitan with lots of department stores as well as quirky shops. Cafes and restaurants are plentiful also - can spend hours in the sun just watching the world go by.

For the more energetic amongst you, there are plenty of walking and bus tours available. These can be booked via your hotel rep or book on the day. These vary from 12 euros upwards depending upon the tour, the time and what is included.

“Superb surroundings and an amazing cathedral”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2013

An amazing site remembering you of the old days of the Spanish colonies.
Don't be fooled by the outside simple look of the buildings (even though those are superb as well), the interior is even more exciting and worth visiting.
Everything is full of history... be sure not to miss this place, you will not be sorry.

“Worth seeing, especially the inside and the roof top terrace”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Austere on the outside but elegant soaring late Gothic vaults on the inside this church is well worth visiting properly, ie not just the whistle stop look at the outside only that the bus and walking tours offer. The carvings and sculptures are high quality work too. But the best is the view from the top, by a lift, and the panorama of the church itself, of the square below, of the rooftops around and of the more distant views of the city, coastline and mountains is spectacular.

“A Working Cathedral”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

Mass was being said whilst we visited, so were unable to look round much. A bright clean interior with a range of periods and art styles represented. Lacking the 'Bling' of many cathedrals but good to see a real congregation actively involved.
