Many Spanish churches and cathedrals can be rather over the top and almost vulgar, but the Cathedral of St Anne is delightfully restrained and elegant. The small museum is interesting enough and the view from the top of the Cathedral is well worth seeing.

Despite the cathedral is beautifully set in the ancient town center of Las Palmas, it is not more interesting than for instance the Canarian museum or the Columbus house.

It cost €3 to enter the catedral, I was amazed at how massive it was inside! It must have taken years to build. It would be very interesting to experience a service in it. There are lots of beautiful art hanging on the walls in every room. The library was closed when we were there.

To be honest, it's worth spending 20-30 minutes on but that's about it, unless you are very interested :)

I did not visit the cathedral inself, which might have been a mistake, but the view from the rooftop made it up for me. From there you can observe both endless waters of Altantic Ocean and the city of Las Palmas. The architecture is very fine too, and from up there you can have a closer look.
