Having stayed at the Reina Isabel for a getaway week in the sun, we felt a visit to the top rated La Parilla was a must.
Probably a quiet time of the year, but no reservation was required for a Wednesday night meal - restaurant was less than half filled mostly with Scandinavians and pensioners...
We went for the seven course Peruvian tasting menu - not quite sure whether the price was €50 per head or for the two of us (it was in fact the latter!!!!)
The ceviche was excellent and the other three starters as well. The two main dishes (salmon and beef tenderloin) were nothing special, so we felt a bit let down. Have had much better salmon in other restaurants, and the tenderloin was ordinary.
Having great reviews create high expectations so unfortunately we left a bit disappointed. To be fair, with the bargain price it was excellent value for money and the staff were friendly and service was prompt.
The staff speaks English but only a minimum...
Selection of wines is great but little to choose from in terms of half bottles or 'by the glass'
To conclude it is a great restaurant, but there are other great restaurants in Las Palmas too!
