La Mariners saved the day (fortnight actually). Let me make this short and sweet.

Fabulous location and views. Tables on the Sea side followed by beach side are a must.

Never had such attentive service, fantastic. They even showed us where to get our taxi from when going home.

The place is a little shabby chique in a very sophisticated way.

And the food, for starters, salted peppers very nicely done, fish soup, plenty of shell fish deliciouse. For mains large grilled prans great and for me jumbo prawns (the size of a big babies arm) grilled and fantastic, mouth watering, had two which was enough really but left wanting more so yummy.
So good, unusually we even had puddings. Cava and wine to wash it all down with, good choice reasonable priced.

Being in Las Palmas, we asked to our hotel (Parque) were we could take a dinner. The lady told us to go to Las Canteras and look for a restaurant called La Marinera. The restaurant is just at La Puntilla, facing the entire promenade. Especially during the night the sight is spectacular, with the darkness of the sea, the sound of the waves and the small lights. With this panorama in the eyes, we have thought the price could be really too expensive. We decided to check anyway the menu, and this was the wisest choice we could take.
The prices are absolutely not too high. Perhaps a bit more than in the other restaurants we have eaten during our holidays, but still quite cheap. And the restaurant seems to be really a good restaurant in Las Palmas. There were quite some people clearly not tourists (not only Spanish, but really living on the isle itself) eating there.
From the menu, we have chosen: the Gofio (flour made from roasted grains and cooked in a fish soup to gain all the fish taste... you have just to trust and try it, it's delicious!), Pimientos del Padron (always really tasteful), Lagostine a la plancha and Pulpo Frito (both super fresh and perfect). Just to finish one Crema Catalana, with a perfect caramel crust. More, two colas and some bread with different sauces (aioli, mojo and a third one I cannot remember). All, just 42 euros.
I have read a lot of negative comments about the waiters. I can just tell that the restaurant has quite a number of tables, and that night it was super full. So, they were really busy to allow everyone to receive dishes on time. I would not expect something more, with so much work.
Definitely, go there!

Since our luggage was lost upon arrive we have to go to lunch prior swimming. And the recommendation was really helpful - great seafood, fish and traditional Spanish food. Our son was in love with their paella. But not an every day place.

If you enjoy fish you must visit this restaurant right next to the ocean. You can chose your own fish and chose how it is cooked. Book window seat in advance- wonderful views of the ocean!

We went to eat at la marinera because we felt like having some fresh fish. The paella was okay but missed flavour. The whole fish was good but not amazing. The octopus starter was very good.
