“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

This place is known as little Venice. When you visit you will know why.
For the best way to visit here take the ferry from Puerto Rico. It is a nice cruise along the coast lasting about 40 minutes. When you arrive at the port walk through into the town and enjoy the beautifully laid out area. Then walk through through to the marina and around thr harbour. You will then see why it is called little Venice! Stop at one of the many bars surrounding the marina and enjoy people watching for a while, a past time that I enjoy! We had lunch of tapas at one of the bars, which although ok we found to be expensive. But what do you expect when you have a popular place. All in all we enjoyed a good few hours wandering and browsing. It is a place that shoul be included on your venue if you are in this area of Gran Canaria

“Fantastic hike with no effort spared”
Reviewed May 16, 2012 via mobile

We went on a guided hike of the Guayadeque Valley on the east of Gran Canaria.

It was off season and at the end of a mini heat wave - despite this, after a few quick checks on our general health and fitness, Daniel (our guide and owner) happily agreed to take the 2 of us on what transpired to be a personal tour of the valley and caves.

Not only was the hike priced very reasonably, absolutely everything was included in the price - boots and hiking sticks if you needed them, large bottle of water, hand made packed lunch and a CD of photos taken throughout the hike.

We started with a drive of just over an hour to the start point, with various sights and attractions pointed out along the way.

The hike lasted several hours with a lunch stop at one of the beautiful cave settlements about half way. While we'd been primarily attracted by the caves, the valley itself is absolutely stunning and with the highest points at over 1,300m offers excellent views over the island right down to the sea. The caves themselves were fascinating - in occupation for thousands of years with some having been "modernised" and still occupied today. Throughout the tour we were given snippets of local history and facts in fluent English - especially impressive as Daniel is a German born Canary adoptee.

The hike ended at a more heavily populated cave village with a church and bar restaurant both built into caves. The bar has a well shaded outside area and we were given plenty of time to appreciate our hard earned beers before being driven back to our hotel.

Cracking trip - we had considered hiring a car and doing it ourselves, however even if you can cope with the winding mountain roads, the extra information made it well worth it, not to mention being told which one of the many identical mountain paths would get us home!

“Delightful coastal resort”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

In Gran Canaria, you probably can do no better than to stay in, or close to Peurto de Mogan. A delightful coastal resort with attractive hotel and apartment choices.
The beach is splendid and complemented by an attractive harbour. Additionally there are many relatively inexpensive restaurants and the weeky large market on a Friday.
With the wisdom of hindsight, we would have stayed in the resort and not had to drive back and forward to it.
