“Do not miss!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

If in Gran Canaria do not miss this one! Before you go check if it's cloudy in the hills (weather may differ from the coast). It is situated in the very center of the island - an hour ride from the resorts (we took the road from Maspalomas). Narrow, windy and steep, but great quality road leads you through absolutely stunning landscapes, up to about 1000 meters from the rock. Then you have some 15 - 20 minutes of a casual hike, and you're there! And it's amazing! The view just spreads across the island (it's a second highest peak there), and if you are lucky, all the way to the snowy peaks of 3700 meters high mount Teide at Tenerife! Puts a smile on my face just writing about it :-)

“the most stunning veiws in all of Spain”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

the weather was interesting on the day we trecked up the mountain, with mist swirling around our ankles and brightest blue sky above. We sat at the summit for hours just taking in the scenery. Lush forestry, and wildflowers stretching our across the sculptural mountain range, the shimmerring sea with the Islands in the distance. Take a picnic though as thankfully commercialism hasn't reached the top of this magnificent mountain.

“The best hike on the Island”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

This place was thought to be sacred by the early inhabitants and I can see why. Stunning views out of every direction and dramatic wildflowers were encountered in late February. I was lucky to have clear skies each day to the vistas were unobscured. Truly a highlight!

“Very unusual ... And unexpected”
Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

You would not expect such an interesting rock formations on the top of the mountain in the center of the island... But this is the case. Many remind faces and sculptures, there are interesting caves and windows in the rocks, very flat upper plato which leads to a stand alone vertical cliff reminded me upper part of Kinabalu mountain in Borneo...

Great views, rich flora, very easy short hike. There are really no contras to the idea of drive to Roque Nublo apart from one single thing - make sure that morning skies are clear and there no "nubes" above roque nublo... ))

“Spectacular views”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

On a clear day, this is a tremendous viewpoint, right across to Tenerife, and over the mountainous central area of Gran Canaria. Even if you are not a keen walker, it is only a fairly short walk up a clear path from the nearby carpark. You can extend the walk by descending from the rock along the path to La Culata, a small village with bar in the heart of the countryside, and return up a steep path to the car park. The weather is certainly variable. Within a couple of days in February, it can be still and warm at 23 degrees, or 5 degrees in a fierce wind.
